When my teacher handed out some papers I was surprised that I got one, considering I’m really goofy. The more I look into it, the more I realize how much of a honor it is to even be considered to be selected in the NJHS. Three of my best traits would be my humor, my dedication, and my passion. My first trait, my humor, I get told that my humor is unique or just really funny. My humor has helped me get past problems and help my friends in their time of need. My dedication is strong, especially in band. I have put countless hours of practice into my instrument, and it pays off. In order to be eligible for the NJHS, you must have at least a 90% average in all your classes and demonstrate good behavioral skills. Just because you’re eligible, doesn’t mean that you will make it into the NJHS. The NJHS is not just a club, it is a society, and most importantly, a privilege.
It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. I am only being considered for potential membership in the National Honors Society because I have demonstrated an exemplary academic attitude, and have proven this through the grades I have attained during the years I have spent in the Wapato School District and the fondness amongst my teachers I have achieved. I am exceptionally grateful for this opportunity to possibly be a member of this very prestigious organization. Every day I work tremendously hard to be noticed by both other scholars and my teachers. Now that an opportunity has come, I am truly excited to demonstrate and live by the values of The National Junior Honors Society. I hope to further expose and show both my dedication and want to join arms with my community and my peers and I wish to continue to work with passion and fire to shape the world into a brighter place.
I wish to take the time to give thanks for this impeccable opportunity in applying for the highly sought after National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to embarking on this journey since I heard about this organization freshman year. I am truly elated to be one of the many students that qualifies, as I know the standards of excellence and character that must be exemplified and met.
I was very excited when I heard that I had been invited into National Junior Honors Society. The first time I heard of NJHS, it instantly became a goal of mine. When my older sister left for college I was very sad, so I think that this is a way for me to keep a part of her. I have always been that little girl no one understood, because I’m always very excited to learn and get back to school after summer break. I’m very happy to see that I’ve been invited, but this is why I should be accepted.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
Nomination to the Sanger Chapter of the National Honor Society is an absolute privilege. I strongly thank all those involved in the decision of the nominations. I firmly believe I have the character, service, and leadership that is desired in order to be accepted.
A characteristic I chose was generosity. I chose this because it's super important to my mom and dads families. We lived in a community where giving is greater than keeping for ourself. My family has passed down generation's by generation to give away the first thing they ever make for the first time away to someone. Now they give away anything to people new to old or foods clothes and anything to anybody.
Another great aspect of my personality is my determination and willpower to go on with the goal I have set for myself. I am dedicated to my work, whatever it may be, and I will finish what has been started. One of my greatest skills is being able to be compassionate towards others. By placing myself into someone else’s shoes, I find myself being able to better understand where other people are coming from. I am an extremely caring person that will go to great lengths for anyone. I can easily overlook the differences in other people, and this is what helps me get along with almost anyone that I come across. In order to lead people in a positive direction you need to be able to relate to them on a more personal level. It is much easier when people feel comfortable around their leader. I always like to lend a helping hand or even a shoulder to cry on when it is needed. My strengths include integrity, optimism, faith, innovation, and adaptability. These strengths are important to have in leadership positions. Leaders should have a firm hold on their beliefs and morals in order to have a positive impact on people. Keeping my commitments is crucial to me, because I am a woman of my word. I think this is a good trait in leadership, because people need to be able to count on the person that they look up to. My favorite love your people trait out of them all is encourage. I think encouragement is the best thing you can give to someone. All of the LYP traits are very important to your character. People don't function well without kindness. Even a little bit of love can get someone through the day. After all, if you don't live the eight, what do you live?
If I was to pick one personal quality that I have, it would have to me the ability to influence the people around me in a positive way. The reason why I chose this particular quality is simply that it tends to help others get back on track before they get too far off.
The quality I would rank as my best quality is my Willpower, along with Self Motivation. I have the ability even when things get tough to keep on going and motivate myself because I can see the bigger picture and know that all the studying will be worth it long term when I am able to use my abilities and skills to help other people.
Another one of my qualities is, that I have honestly acceptable handwriting for a boy. I love to write ideas down in a notebook or do my homework. It does not matter what I write with pen or pencil.

There are many personal characteristics that can define a person as an individual; some characteristics determined if a person is nice, disrespectful, intelligent, or not intelligent but it determines how a person interprets you. I believe that every individual has integrity as one of their characteristics, but my top three characteristics are Integrity, Compassion, and hard-working and for the person who carried me throughout my whole life “my brother” his characteristics would be his responsibility.
