Caring Assignment Caring is the act of displaying kindness and concern for others. When you care you display affection. You may like or be willing to do something for someone. Maybe even look after and provide for a person. Caring can be displayed in many ways. Caring plays a big role in the nursing profession. Choosing to become a nurse is making a moral commitment to care for all patients. Nurses are the main providers of care. Being able to treat that patient holistically and not just their illness. Care drives the treatment that is provided. It helps develop good rapport between you and your patient during their stay. You wouldn’t care for each patient the same. The care provided is patient specific because treating them as unique individuals. No two people are the same, so the care wouldn’t be too. She’s a single mother of two, full time college student and full time worker. She had her kids at a young age so she wasn’t able to live her teenage years the way she wanted. Her problem was never having a babysitter or having time to enjoy herself. Over mini break I decided to use her as my caring project. I surprised her and showed up to her house. I told her I was bored and asked if I can give her a little make over. I did her and makeup and put together an outfit for her. One thing about her is ever since becoming a mom she always felt insecure. Once I finished I knew just by her facial expressions that she loved it. The next surprise was telling her to out and enjoy herself. Of course the first question she asked was who’s going to watch the kids. Of course I was. She went on a date with her boyfriend. I knew she was going to enjoy her night. She thanked me over and over and still does until this day. My project allowed me to provide happiness to someone else other than me who deserved it. It was the best feeling ever and worth
