My short story is about the similarities of music and sports. First, music is the sound of voices and/or instruments. It has a range of high, low, loud, or quiet. Music is not just something to listen to. Music is also to play or sing. For people music is not just about the sound, it is about the feeling. How music makes you feel is important. It could be harming, calming, peaceful, hateful, dangerous, mysterious, inspirational, warm felt, dreadful, faithful. It has a different meaning to each and every person. Confusion can also be brought into music. For other music is just about the lyrics or the singer. Every person has their favorite type of music. To some a hobby, a job, a passion, a stress reliever. How sports and music are similar are that we practice and perform for both. For sports we either to run in a cross country meet, or swim in the event, or to hit, or catch in baseball or softball, to shoot in the correct basket, score in the right goal, or to land the correct way. In music it means to preform at a concert, or at contests. In different ways music pumps people up. For football in might be a faster or harder beat. For gymnastics and dance it would be a rhythm music for their floor routine. For skating or running it would be a slow but yet fast enough best to not clam us down but to get out minds mentally ready for the challenge. All of them have a rating. A competitive part to make sure they we succeed. We all try to get the fastest time, or highest points, or get the superior rating, or to hit the high or low notes. All of these are challenging. That is why we try so hard to meat our limits, to set goals. The one purpose is to give it all and to never fail, because "practice makes perfect". Each sport has the correct position or spot on the team for a person for many reasons. For music you are placed by the range of your voice.
