The second composition that helps Mt. Fuji be able to reach the symbol of Japan is the cultural aspects of Mt. Fuji. Since Mt. Fuji with a symmetrical shape was formed by multiple eruptions of volcanoes, Mt. Fuji has been called a sacred mountain to Japanese people, especially to many religious believers. From ancient times, in Japan, Shintoism and Buddhism have been most prevalent religion. For Shintoist, Mt. Fuji was the holy place in which Goddess, Sengen-Sama and incarnation of nature’s spirit stayed because they usually believed all nature has a spirit itself ("Mount Fuji" Sacred Destinations). Fuji to be developed as the iconic center of Japan is the economic aspects of Mount Fuji. As Mount Fuji was formed by multiple eruptions of volcanoes, it brought very useful benefits caused by volcanism. The first and most important benefit from the eruption of Mount Fuji is the tourism. Since Mount Fuji was created, and it was widely known as a beautiful tourist attraction with a magnificent view, many resorts, hotels, gift shops, restaurants, various tourist facilities, etc were built around Mount Fuji in order to boost the growth of the tourism (“The Lakes”). Since various landscapes and cultural places were caused by the existence of Mount Fuji, diverse tourist attractions are also formed around Mount Fuji. For instance, five lakes, Sengen Shrines, Aokigahara Forest, Itchiku kubota art museum, or Shiraito no Taki water fall is the typical example for people to enjoy not only Mt. Fuji, but also many beautiful attractions which were caused by Fuji (TANIGUKU). These tourism spots are also one of factors to stimulate the economic activity around Mount Fuji. Actually, the most important factor of growing tourism business around Mt. Fuji is the hot spring. As Mount Fuji was created by volcanism, many hot springs were also formed around the mountain. Fuji. It means that although Mount Fuji was difficult for ordinary people to climb in the past, it becomes more available for anyone to be able to enjoy the climbing of Mt. Fuji today. As I mentioned above, every year more than 300,000 people have visited this wonderful and attractive site, and among those 300,000 people, 30 percent of climbers are foreigners (Interesting facts). It means that Mt Fuji is not just for only Japan. It is for everyone around the world now. Of course, there is a little problem since Mount Fuji is widely well-known to the global people. According to the New York Times, many visitors have dumped trashes in Mount Fuji every year, and this behavior has surely ruined the environment of Mount Fuji. Fortunately, more than tens of thousands people picked up those trashes around Mount Fuji as a volunteer work in order to preserve this beautiful mountain (BELSON). Mount Fuji goes beyond the mountain. It becomes Japanese living place, livelihood, culture, and the international symbol, and Mount Fuji can be the everlasting hub of Japan which takes charge of culture and economy of Japan until there are people who really love and care for the nature of Mount
