He is sitting in front of the desk, searching for clues. He has not been able to find any links to the crime. Every mystery he has solved has some flaws in it. For past two weeks, he has not been able to find any loopholes in the plan. Every time he starts again digs deep and deep but the hunt always ends in disappointment. As the situation is becoming more complex, the thought of failure is getting on him. He stood up and threw the lamp away in agony. He pulls out a box from the drawer of the desk, opens it, and pulls out a cigar. "That's it for today", he says to himself while smoking. Floyd Maynard had a marvelous career as a detective. This is his last case. His success is a shivering mirage to many young detectives and he wants to keep it that way. For past 2 years, he has been planning his retirement. He believes that he has seen enough. He considers himself too old for this job. For now, all he wants is to move away from the world of crime and live out the remaining days peacefully. Mr. Maynard." "Hello." "So you are taking this case, huh, I guess your last one." "Yes. The last one." There was a moment of silence then Floyd said, "You see the marks around his neck, and he stabbed him three times." He then wrote "The victim resisted" after the details about wounds in his notebook. The pathologist replied, "Yes. Now look at his fingernails, he scratched him around his neck I suppose." "Hmm. Now, I would very much like to see fingerprints report. If you find something about the DNA of the killer, please inform me. That will be all." He closed his notebook and started walking towards the door. As he reached the door, he turned toward the pathologist and said, "Have you seen any similarities in this one and the recent murders?" The pathologist

Detective Burcks had enjoyed a great sense of relief following the conclusion of the case. He and Jesse had been written about extensively in nearly every news outlet in the country, most exaggerated extensively, but this time Burcks didn’t mind. He had just finished reading the most recent piece about Peters in the Tribune when he looked at his watch and concluded that his day was over. He stood up, put on his jacket, and was almost to the door when his phone began to ring. Giving it a moment’s thought, Detective Burcks turned his back to the phone and closed the door, thinking to himself not this time.
Jake watched as Miss Collins’ horse galloped through the trees and out of sight. He made an exasperated snort and slid the Winchester into the rifle scabbard. His duty was to get Duvall, and he’d start by doubling back to the dead or wounded outlaws.
He uses many tactics such as the photograph and graphically detailed descriptions to shock both the audiences and the characters. By shocking the audience he can best get across his moral warning and by shocking the other characters he can best get them to open up to him and admit their wrongs. The Inspectors overall approach to the investigation is totally irregular, which creates dramatic interest and in some points emotional conflicts which create tension and keep the audiences attention. But even after he has left, he is still creating interest and tension as the characters try to decide whether or not he was a real inspector and in fact whether or not he was actually real.
I arrive home around 11:00 p.m. to a sleeping wife and child. I walked into my daughter Emily’s nursery to give her a kiss goodnight. I leaned in and placed my lips on her forehead as she lightly opened her eyes. I rubbed her back and sang softly to put her back to sleep.
If you’ve ever read Peter Abrahams Behind the Curtain, you know how good a detective, Ingrid can be, and if you’ve seen the animated short The Defective Detective, you know how imaginative ( a bit too much, and a tad bit morbid as well…), and defective a detective can be. If you haven’t read or seen either of those, well here's a recap. Ingrid brings down a drug ring, her best friends brother, and her own. The Defective Detective infers what is happening, even though what actually is happening, isn’t the truth at all; and the short is about an obviously defective detective, but

Clarkson was about to speak, when Mr. Riley continued. "So, early one morning, someone found Arlene's body in a room at The McGrath's. It appeared as if she was attacked while she slept. It was never proven that Michael committed the murder, so he wasn't convicted."
Detective Jones had so much sympathy for the girl’s brother, Aaron. He raised Kennedy by himself, since his mother was never around. Their mother and father were both drug addicts and sadly died two years ago. Aaron and Kennedy were devastated, but Aaron knew it would happen sooner or later. “Is there a Detective Jones here?” asked a young barista. Jones's head shot up and
“Idiot I found the body, how could I kill the person I found dead?” said Dr. Dread
