Mr. Henderson's Leadership Style Differences

I had the opportunity to be employed by many organizations in my lifetime. With such experience in the work force, I gathered traits, the good and the bad, from my superiors to mold my own leadership style. Out of all the people I worked for that held management positions, two stand out the most because of their differences. Even though both men wore the United States Marine Corps uniform, their difference in leadership, appearance, and customer service made it seem as if they were not in the same organization at all.
First, and most important difference would be there leadership styles. Mr. Henderson, on numerous occasions, displayed great decisiveness while dealing with short fuse issues that required a quick sound decision. When Mr. Henderson subordinates asked questions, his integrity would not allow him to deceive the junior Marine. Regardless of rank and position, Mr. Henderson believed his job would not be complete if it was not for his Marines that were under his command. However, Mr. Jones could not make a decision on any issue that was brought to hand. Mr. Jones would delegate the assignment to his subordinate that he felt knew could handle the issue. Having no integrity, Mr. Jones would lie to management to buy time for the assignment to be completed. …show more content…

Mr. Henderson was physically fit. He believe a Marines’ appearance is a direct reflection of his pride. Mr. Henderson would take hours spit shining his boots, and pressing his uniform. Every Monday morning Mr. Henderson would have a fresh haircut, shave, and clean appearance. Mr. Jones on the other hand thought appearance had nothing to do with work completion. Mr. Jones was over weight, and wore a uniform that was out of the fitting regulations. During a Monday morning formation Mr. Jones would show up with no hair cut at all. Mr. Jones believes that grooming himself every Sunday was an eccentric practice that he would not partake
