Two people that I find very interesting are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. When people think about them, what would come to mind first is that they were both famous composers and musicians. These two well-known men did have that in common, but they also had much more. Besides the fact that they were famous composers and musicians, neither of them had good relationships with their fathers, they both spent most of their childhoods around adults,they were Catholic, and they played similar instruments.
Mozart and Beethoven were both famous for their styles of music. Both these composers wrote music in many variations. Mozart’s style of music made a clear, precise, balanced, and light sound, which fit with his personality. Mozart’s father controlled every part of his child life, so he did not want his father to always have that authority over him as he was becoming an adult. In order to make sure his father didn’t have that power, he never took his father’s advice about trusting people, who to associate himself with, or about money. Beethoven’s father was an abusive alcoholic. He would make him practise for hours a day. He said that he wanted Beethoven to become,”The next Mozart.”
Most of Mozart and Beethoven’s childhoods were spent around adults. Beethoven’s first piano teacher was his father. When Mozart was around six years old, his father, Leopold, took him to Electoral Court at Munich, Germany. He also traveled around Vienna with his father. Another teacher that ludwig had was Christian Gottlob Neefe, who, after teaching Beethoven at age eight, helped him to start performing. Beethoven also spent time practicing piano under Tobias Friedrich Pfeiffer and he learned to play the violin under his Uncle Franz
