Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, also known as W.A. Mozart, was a very well-known composer of the Classical Period as well as still to this day. Wolfgang Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He was known for his sonatas, symphonies, masses, chamber music, concertos, and operas. He set the standards high for all composers following in his footsteps. Mozart was born to Leopold and Maria Pertl Mozart. Mozart’s father, Leopold, was a composer, violinist, and assistant concert master in the Salzburg court. Due to the fact that his father was deeply involved in music, Mozart was influenced at very young age. Mozart had begun learning how to play the piano as early as the age of three. Under his father’s advisement, Mozart and his sister, Mozart then wrote the entire musical score completely from memory. He only had to correct minor errors to correct when he heard it again. When Mozart was in Italy, he wrote his famous operas Mitridate, re di Ponto, Ascanio in Alba in 177, and Lucio Silla in 1772. However, Mozart began to come across complications that threaten his musical career. In 1773, his father’s benefactor, Archbishop von Schrattenbach, died. His successor had appointed Mozart assistant concertmaster but with very little pay. However, Mozart took this time to work on symphonies, string quartets, sonatas, serenades, and operas. He wrote five violin concertos in 1776. He then wrote piano concertos like the Piano Concerto Number in E flat major in 1777. Mozart had begun to dislike being confined as an assistant concert master, so he decided to travel with his mother to places like Mannheim, Paris, and Munich. However, the jobs he tried to get never worked out, so he was running low on money. He had to start selling his personal belongings to pay for his trips. In 1778, his mother got sick and died so Mozart had to return home to a job as a court organist. When Mozart retuned home, he was summoned to Vienna by Archbishop von Colloredo where he treated Mozart as a servant. It took Mozart a while before he was able to
