“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, and forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.” Mother Teresa traveled around the world to find people in need. She opened houses for lepers, babies, and for the homeless. Mother Teresa taught for 20 years in Saint Mary’s high school in Calcutta, India. Because she shared her life with the poor, the sick, and the hungry, she started schools and homes for homeless children and she also helped the poor for no funds, Mother Teresa is an influential bolster. To begin with, Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje Macedonia. Agnes chose the name Teresa after of Liseuix when she took her vows as a sister of Loretta. She had five siblings but unfortunately just three survived. She was the youngest of 3 children. At the age of nine years old her father died. Mother Teresa attended a public school in Skopje focused on her religious vows. By the age of 12, she made up her mind that her vocation was aiding the poor. Mother Teresa became interested in missionaries nun and joined an Irish order, the sisters of Loretto. When she was eighteen, mother Teresa left home to join a community of Irish nuns.
