It has been too long since I last wrote to you, so I thought I would inform you on momentous events that happened in my life in the last little while. The previous time I heard from you was when Gabriel turned three. I can’t believe he is about to become a teenager now. My goodness, time flies by so fast. I was so ecstatic when I saw your prior letter arrive in my mail. It had been nearly nine years since we had any communication, so I thought we should get back into the habit of updating one another. How have you been Jonas? How’s Gabriel? I hope the both of you are both doing well. I missed the two of you dearly. Many things happened here when you were away. After you left the community we were left in complete ruins. The whole population went through such a traumatic state with the unanticipated release of memories. They affected everybody so much, and The Giver could only help us recover to a sufficient amount. The memories were a source of wisdom, but also of pain. It was a rough patch, but we went through it and acquired a learning experience from it. The whole community was in such despair with your sudden disappearance. However, I’m glad you escaped the community, for without it, the society would still be isolated, unattached from the wisdom of the past. …show more content…
