Most musicians, models and movie stars represent the ideal beauty standard in modern society. The easily manipulated youth is exposed to all forms of media, subjected to their provided information, and made believe that beauty constitutes in being skinny. Individuals, who do not represent the "skinny" standard are often humiliated and shamed causing many psychological effects. The number of children suffering from eating disorders has significantly increased, as the media influences society to believe there is only one superficial beauty standard for all. Unhealthy body weight is implied as a requirement for beauty. Love, empathy and acceptance is nowhere in sight; having achieved this, businesses have created a whole new world producing products, for example: clothing, accessories and make-up, and manipulate people to recklessly consume, by promoting them through musicians, actors, artists, and overall anyone who is of significance and contributes to the entertainment of the population. Young people are affected by the violence aimed toward women in movies and shows, implying it as acceptable behavior. While growing up, children should be presented with good examples, sincerity and positivity, instead of morally wrong, aggressive, violent images, which are often the only available behavior examples. When facing new challenges and situations in life, children tend to reenact previously seen behavioral reactions, believing that they are behaving accordingly and rightfully. Substantially more that being victimized, women are sexualized beyond all courteous manners.
