Media Production Write-Up
The title of our piece we produced is “flash back” My group consisted
of umar hanif, haseeb yasin, sohail javed, raheel bashir, micahel
edwards and my self. We all agreed to create the opening ten minutes
of a film. When working in a group with more than two people there
will always be some disagreement due to contrasting ideas. This will
inevitability causes difficulty with particular aspects with the
film’s production. Finally after much debate our story is based on
gang war. Our story line is just same as “tu pac” death where he is
been shot and killed by the ones who felt in jealousy with him,
whereby we shown LLT known as micahel edwards life story where he is
an popular rap star. Later after a few fights and chases the rap star
is stabbed down by one of the gang people. Our opening two minutes
will relate to this by showing his death which however we will make it
as a flash back scene later we will reveal his life story that how he
came into involving with the gang. In this opening shot we see
relatively clearly the LLT face, which is not common in the thriller
genre.
We intended to show our project for the audience aged 15 or above

audience who watch thriller and action type movies will make a
difference on there minds that they will next time watch this movie of
seeing the trailer for 2 minutes.

The music is rap throughout which makes the film more personal as
everything and is
basic concept for being a thriller.
The lacking factor that was apparent was our time management. It
would have been impossible to set a time plan although we did have a
basic one. However we all had different commitments at various times.
Instead of a time plan we should have written down the exact time of
day we needed to film what scenes, this would have saved time
travelling up and down to Orhcard club to film a shot which we forgot
to do.
We have acquired a lot of skills over the period of construction and
editing, ranging from computing skills to lighting expertise. This has
given us a better knowledge of the practical side of media causing us
to understand why media is such a big part of our everyday life.

As a student of Creative Media Practice, I have come to appreciate the concept of practice as research, people set about research for a diversity of reasons, but the major goals for academics is to address a problem, find things out or establish new heights. According to Robin Nelson in his book, Practice as Research in the Arts: “The term ‘Arts Practice as Research’ would probably not have been coined had artists not gotten involved with modern higher education systems in respect to programmes of learning” (2013: 3). Creative writing has been a source of exploration for me but during this project, I struggled with what constituted as knowledge in creative writing research. Nelson also writes: “Artists engaging in inquiry

The Studio System Key point about the studio system could be: Despite being one of the biggest industries in the United States, indeed the World, the internal workings of the 'dream factory' that is Hollywood is little understood outside the business. The Hollywood Studio System: A History is the first book to describe and analyse the complete development, classic operation, and reinvention of the global corporate entities which produce and distribute most of the films we watch. Starting in 1920, Adolph Zukor, head of Paramount Pictures, over the decade of the 1920s helped to fashion Hollywood into a vertically integrated system, a set of economic innovations which was firmly in place by 1930.
CNN presents the documentary, Homicide in Hollenbeck, spotlighting gang activity in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hollenbeck. This documentary explores the subculture of gangs existing within Hollenbeck from a several perspectives. The people documented include a mother who lost both of her sons to gang violence, a priest that has tried to help rehabilitate gang members, a police officer that has worked in Hollenbeck for five years in the gang unit, and a current gang member. In order to fight the overwhelming gang presence, the police believe in increasing the amount of gun power on the streets and number of jailed gang members. The priest who runs Homeboy Industries stated that he feels most gang members are just young men who can’t get out of the gang life. With more funds and opportunities, he thinks the problem could be decreased. In the end, the documentary mentions that the FBI has formed a gang center where local law enforcement agencies can share information to gain more knowledge and to better fight the presence of gangs.

With this short but very interesting and informative class I have just scratched the surface of the what it takes to make a full fleged film. It takes much more than I had presumed to make a movie in Hollywood. The number of people that it takes to make a minute of a movie let alone the entire movie was astonishing to me. There are many things that it takes to start making a movie but without an idea of some sort there is no movie to be made.

Creating a Media Product For my A-S level media course I was assigned the task of creating a Media product. First of all, I had to choose the people who would participate in this work with me. With the advice that any group with five plus members made organisation and distribution of tasks very difficult it was agreed that the group I would work with would be a group of four containing Myself, Thomas Homewood, Ben Weeks and Jack Wicket-Padgham. First of all the four of us began thinking of ideas and primarily what type of product would be created. We took into consideration the pros and cons of the two possibilities left on our short-list.
Interactive media and the World Wide Web have become an entirely new medium for advertising copywriters. As new innovations in computer technology arise, copywriters find the best ways to utilize interactive media for marketing their products, and sometimes, themselves. They have discovered several key marketing methods including hypertext, JAVA, and accuracy of information.
Transmedia storytelling is incessantly integrated in network society. However, the same argument cannot be made about its effectiveness in education. This is likely because education is still perceived as a traditional practice and although convergence culture has been a revelation in world of digital media, the power of multimodal education through transmedia is not seen as a substantiate substitute for outdated practices in academic pedagogies. This paper will analyze and investigate the role transmedia storytelling in education and its practices especially with the proliferation of contemporary digital media technology.
Film editing by definition is part of the creative postproduction process of filmmaking. In today’s modern world, film has made use of advanced digital technology to help with the editing. The editor or editors are usually given a complete compilation of all the footage. These various separate shots that can be regarded as ‘ raw’ footage. Their task is to create a finished motion picture through combining and selecting shots and putting them into a coherent sequence of events. Whenever we are viewing a film it is extremely difficult to consciously perceive all the editing that has been undertaken. Every single time there is a change from one image to another, this is an edit. For editors, it could be a possible annoyance or perhaps a blessing that critics and the audience never specifically point out the editor’s contribution. However it must be noted that film editors aren’t the only ones that will contribute to a films editing.
