The letter does serve as a good introduction to the rest of the paper. The mantis shrimp states very clearly that it is concerned with its complex color vision. However, the mention of research makes it too detail. The “A different form of color vision in Mantis shrimp” study should be mentioned in the response. Yes, the material seemed to be ordered in a way that allows the author to slowly addresses the shrimp’s concerns. The author is using the research studies to provide a response. The in-text citations are not consistent. There are a few that do not have the names capitalized, while others use the scientist’s first name instead of their last name within the citation.
