What is something the Malaysia Flight 370, the Lake Anjikuni Inuit Village, the Village of Hoer Verde, and the Mary Celeste all have in common? In all cases, a strange phenomenon occurred- a large group of people disappeared, practically without a trace. The same goes for the “Lost Colony” of Roanoke. There are many theories of what could have happened to the folk in that town way back in the 1580’s. They could have moved west, they could have eaten each other, they could have even been killed by irate Natives. There wasn’t a lot to go by- Only the word Croatan carved into a tree trunk- and when there aren't facts, people find explanations for themselves.
