Cat Versus Dog
There are tons of things that can come to mind when one thinks of a dog or a cat. Many people make a choice to become a cat person or a dog lover. There are so many things to think about when choosing a pet. When it comes to owning a pet, most people often think about the amount of space, along with the energy levels the cat or dog might have, most people, also include the amount of attention the animal is going to need, then it comes down to the cost of the pet. Choose the pet carefully.
One of the many factors that pet owners look into is space. How much room will the dog, or cat have to play, sleep, and even eat? Many people think that, because they have a small dog, that they do not need a lot of room, yes, this maybe true, but they need to take the energy of the dog into consideration. Cats on the other hand can live in tight spaces, whether they have tons of energy or not. Both animals depending on the size and breed need the space that can accommodate for these aspects.
Dogs and cats can vary when it comes to the energy level. Most dogs are very active and hyper, most want to play all the time. Cats on the other hand, can be very lazy, and want nothing to do with the owner. All they want the

For dogs, how much food and how often the owner feeds them are things to think about when it come to the care of the animal. Now for cats on the other hand if you leave a bowl of food along with a bowl of water the cat and survive without the owner. Then as it comes to leaving whether its for an hour or a week cats can live, if you just give them, food and water. For dogs when it comes to leaving them for a long period of time, they need someone to take care of them and give them attention. Only because you cannot leave a dog with a bowl full of food, the dog at that state will think he or she needs to eat it all in one
Consistency, is what essay formats seek to provide for readers. Without essay formats, readers may find themselves lost in the style of the author’s text rather than contemplating the ideas and thoughts that the author wants the reader to acknowledge. However, why is it that there are so many different essay formats? Wouldn’t it be simpler to just have one universal essay format? The two most widely used formats, MLA and APA, both have great degree of similarity as well as very distinct differences. Most of the similarities exist due to their effectiveness. On the other hand, the two formats’ distinct differences such as in-text citations or setting aside a whole page for a title, serve to strengthen the clarity of ideas within a field of study the author is trying to convey. Different formats exist due to the specific necessities fields of study require in order to convey their ideas to the reader.
Why do directors choose to stay faithful to or depart from a text when they are producing a film? Many directors choose to either alter or maintain literary elements such as characters, plot, and resolution from a text. The presence or lack of these specific features affects the audience. For instance, in the story “The Monkey’s Paw”, a classic short horror story written by W.W. Jacobs, and its accompanying film, the similarities and differences in the characters, plot, and resolution have an effect on the readers and viewers.
A growing number of studies have attempted to support the theory that cats and dogs differ in their personality attributes. Several common factors have emerged across these studies, such as difference among social behaviours. Higher levels of dominance and hostility have been reported among domestic cats (as cited in Fonberg, 1985). Not surprisingly, domesticated dogs are higher in submissive behaviours (as cited in Marder, 1989). Woodward et al. also reflect upon previously held theories of companion animal attachment that suggest attachment is mediated by the needs of the owner and the characteristics of their pet.
More than half of American households have a pet and this trend is just spreading more and more. The main reason people are keeping pets is for the companionship that pets offer. Normal household pets, such as dogs and cats, offer people the attention and the feeling of always having a companion by one’s side that people may not get from other humans. Pets nowadays are often treated as a regular member of one’s family and people will spend a lot of money for their pets. In 2014, Americans has spent an estimated $58 billion on their pets along with hours of care for them (Yuhas, 1). Regardless of the type of pets people may choose to have there is always a common emotional bond that ties the human with the animal between all loving pet owners. This emotional bond benefits humans in various ways.
Many people consider animals as a part of the family. Pets are fun and can be a great addition to many homes. Although, owning an animal can come with many added benefits other than just having a cute and furry friend to play with. People who own pets, may see an increase in their overall quality of life compared to non-pet owners. Pets are a great way to improve the physical, social, and mental health of their owners.
The book and movie “The Landlady” by Roald Dahl is about a young man called Billy Weaver who is looking for a bed and breakfast to stay for the night. He comes across a low priced hotel with a peculiar landlady who knows how to make an eerie night for her customers. The book and movie have two key differences and one important similarity. The setting in both the book and movie are different, changing the mood. The resolution is different which gives the reader/viewer an opposing view. Billy’s choice in the beginning of the story and movie gives the same plot. If any of these ideas had been the same between the movie and book, or had been changed, there would be contrasting thoughts from the reader/viewer.

They say that a dog is a man’s best friend, but they don’t tell you about the overall cost, responsibility, or convenience of adopting one. Dogs are supposed to bring so much joy to a household, but sometimes they can only fill a void for a short amount of time. When a dog owner buys a dog, do they actually research the things that they are about to get into? When I bought my dog, Skye, I never really looked into issues; I just looked at the benefits. I love Skye to death, and I guess I could say that she also loves me to death.
A dogs behavior is significantly more desirable than a cats. A dog is loving and friendly most of the time and enjoys a good belly rub as a reward. If you try and scratch a cats belly, the cat will try to scratch and bite you. A dog is incomparably easier to train than a cat. You can teach a dog to do anything from bringing you your newspaper to the simplest command, sit. As a result of being able to train a dog, a dog goes to the bathroom outside, leaving no stench behind in your house. Whereas, a cat uses a litter box to go to the bathroom, there is always a stench in your house. Dogs are also far better with children. Dogs form a far greater bond with newborn babies, and often times do not leave the child’s crib side. Also, a trained dog will not cause destruction to your house, while you cannot train a cat to not use their sharp little claws to tear at the side of your couches, and rip and shred all the way down your curtains. Dogs also do not jump places where most cats jump, such as in your lap on your laptop, or on your dinner table at dinner. A dog won’t be a surprise first thing in the morning laying in your bathroom sink either. A dog will lay nex...
Both dogs and cats are good for companionship, because they are both very sweet, loveable. However dogs have a much more need for attention, dogs constantly want to be played with, and sometime aggravate their owner until they get what they want. On the other hand, cats pretty much like to stay to themselves. Some cats may stay away during the day time and only come out at night. Dogs sleep pretty much at night while some cats are up all night.
We all are busy people who are out of the house most of the day. We need a companion to help us ease the stress from daily life. When you talk to pet owners about owning a cat versus a dog, it stirs up much controver-sy in many ways. By looking at both cats and dogs, the cat outweighs the dog in many ways, which makes the cat the superior selection when making a final decision on which one to get. Cats have very desirable qualities that make them an award winning choice to many owners. The qualities that appeal to most are the ability of the cat to live in small spaces, they do not eat large amounts of food for their meals, and they are very sedentary and independent in nature making them a low maintenance pet. One additional desired feature is cats are well suited for owners that have a very busy lifestyle and minimal time to give to their pet. This added feature
Having a pet is a wonderful idea. Pets bring companionship, personality, and gut wrenching humor to households across the world. Having previously owned both a cat and a dog, and currently being without a pet, I began to think about getting a new furry friend. Born a dog lover, and bred into a cat lover, I had the difficult decision of choosing one of the two.
