In the story of Beauty and The Beast, it’s set in a far-off country where a rich merchant lived with his six sons and six daughters. One day the merchant picks a rose from a garden for his daughter Beauty, and gets confronted by the Beast. He demanded that the merchant send him a daughter as payment for his theft. Beauty volunteers knowing that her father had plucked the rose to be a gift for her. In the Beast’s castle Beauty had recurrent dreams of a handsome prince, she wondered in her thoughts the connection between the beast, and the prince. Beauty started to question herself about the beast, and realized not to trust appearances. Despite living in a fortunate lifestyle of wealth, you should not judge the book by its cover.

He plucks a rose from the garden but got startled by a strange noise, then turned around, and saw the Beast, who was angry. The Beast says, “Who told you you might gather my roses? Was it not enough that I sheltered you in my palace and was kind to you? This is the way you show your gratitude, by stealing my flowers! But your insolence shall not go unpunished” (p.6). The father told the Beast the reasons on why he took the rose but he still wasn’t pleased with the speech. He begged the Beast to forgive his actions. For forgiveness the Beast gives him one condition that he hands over one of his daughters that is willingly to come at the end of the month or the father would belong to him for forgiveness. For the most I believe the Beast give the father sympathy in taking the rose for his daughter or he would have killed him right at that moment. In the castle when the Beast arrived to see the arrangement with the merchant. Beauty trembled at the sight of him but made a great effort to hide her fear and saluted him respectfully. The Beast says to Beauty, “Take your father into the next room and help him choose gifts for your brothers and sisters. You will find two traveling trunks there; fill them as full as you can. It is only just that you should send them something very precious as a remembrance” (p.12). The beast goes on his way after saying goodnight to the father and Beauty. She feared to disobey the Beast orders when her father departures the next day. After they filled the trunk it was too heavy to carry, and the father felt mocked by the Beast. Which Beauty demanded she believe that the Beast couldn’t deceive them. Her father departed the following morning, so she fell asleep and had a dream of a handsome Prince. The Prince says, “Ah, Beauty, you are not so unfortunate as you suppose. Here you will be rewarded for all you have suffered elsewhere. Your every wish shall be gratified. Only try to find me out, no matter how I may be disguised, for I love you dearly, and in making me happy, you will find your own happiness.
