Literary Analysis Collection 1 The stories “Ambush”, “The Sniper”, and “The Most Dangerous Game” are similar by conflicts, characters, and settings. These stories are similar because the share similar literary elements. All three characters face a man vs man, self and society conflict. The conflicts of “Ambush”, “The most Dangerous game”, and “The Sniper” can be described as man vs man conflicts. In “Ambush” it says, “He lay at the center of the trail, his right leg bent beneath him, his one eye shut, his other eye had a huge star shaped hole.” In “Ambush” the narrator had to throw a grenade at a young man and kill him. In “The Sniper” it says, “There was a flash and a bullet whizzed over his head.” This shows a man vs man conflict between two snipers. In the story “The most Dangerous game” it says, “Three days hence we can discuss it over a bottle of Veuve Clicquot, unless-” General Zaroff is saying …show more content…

The setting of “The Sniper”, “Ambush”, And “The Most Dangerous Game” are all dangerous. “The Sniper” took place in a time of civil war between republicans and all of Ireland. The “Ambush” was during the Vietnam war and “The Most Dangerous Game” was on an island that run by a person that hunts humans. In “Ambush” it says, “You keep writing war stories, so I guess you must’ve killed somebody.” By Kathleen said this to her dad it showed that he was in a war and in danger. In “The Most Dangerous Game” it says, “If he does not wish to hunt, I turn him over to Ivan. Ivan once had the honor of serving as official knouter to the Great White Czar, and he has his own ideas of choose the hunt.” This shows that Rainsford does not have a choice but to hunt or he will be beaten by Ivan. In “The Sniper” it says, “Cautiously he raised himself and peered over the parapet. There was a flash and a Bullet whizzed over his head.” This shows that there is another sniper trying to shoot at him and he is in a life or death
