Lewis and clark were two mean appointed by the president to find the North West passageway through the country. They were promised great reward if were successful and found the passageway exists. But through this journey they encountered many obstacles, one of which were when they had reached the waterfall, it had proven they had gone the right way and were on the right path. The only problem was they had to take a seventeen mile detour around the falls. The river men carried all the supplies and did what they were told, but were not happy nor cheerful as the movie stated. Another obstacle they encountered were the native americans along the way. Another is when the became stuck and lost in the mountains towing all the supplies, they nearly ran out of food and were on the brink of starvation. They resolved this by splitting in to two groups to try and find a way out of the rockey mountain range. They ended up finding a way out and reached the pacific ocean shortly after that. They also needed help on their journey throught the Northwest. One person who was a big help was Sacagawea, she was 16 and preganent when her cheif told her to come as an interpreter for Lewis and Clark´s journey, she soon became great help when showing them the path, and naturaul and food recources. She helped interpret any conversations with natives along the way, wether it be to ask for supplies, or hospitality for a week of two. Another form of help were the riverman.
