Why are Legos so popular and successful? How did the idea Legos come to be? Legos have had a tremendous impact on the world. Legos have provided a way to relieve boredom and use the mind in a creative way. Legos have shown us that kids can improve brain power, develop a creative sense, and develop problem solving skills that will be important for later in life. Lego is made of a plastic called acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). It is very hard and is what makes Lego very hurtful to step on. The elements that make up ABS is carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen. Carbon is one of the most essential for living organisms as it forms significant compounds. Carbon is especially important for plants as they use it to create glucose for energy. Hydrogen is also important to the creation of life. It is present in every organic compound, and makes two of three atoms in water. Without hydrogen, life could not thrive. Nitrogen is important for life as it helps with growth. Nitrogen is a part of amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. Protein helps build muscle, tissue, and organs. This Theory is the idea that explains the formation of the universe. It was thought that the beginning, was nothing but black space. Then the universe started as a small, hot, dense singularity. A singularity are zones that have surpassed human knowledge and understanding. No one, right now, understands. The singularity then started to expand to form the universe. This is thought to have happened over 13.8 billion years ago. Scientist still do not know if this was what happened. Hubble’s law is one reason for the big bang. An article called “Edwin Hubble Evidence For an Expanding Universe” from the Big History Project website stated, “Hubble’s Law basically states that the greater the distance of a galaxy from ours, the faster it recedes. It was proof that the Universe is expanding.
