Strategic leadership comprises styles and abilities to yield employee performance producing the desired outcome. Leadership styles consist of various components, dependent on situations, and produce one of three responses- commitment, compliance, and/or resistance (Trident 2016). As leadership engages the use of power to influence employee outcomes, leaders develop personal leadership styles in order to empower the workforce. Throughout the movie, both of these men were leaders in their own right, however, as visualized in this scene Vizzini fails due to his overconfidence. Trait models of leadership specifically consider particular traits of a person (s), promotes specific behaviors or leadership styles in order to obtain the desired end result (Cherry 2016). For example, Westley displayed leadership excellence in evaluating the situation, determining the goal, rescuing the princess, deliberately planning to become immune to a poison, taking a risk, and ultimately achieving success. The traits of confidence, determination, motivation, and the ability to think outside the box allowed success for Westley to rescue the princess. As evident in the scene, Miranda experts authority over all who work for her, expecting each employee to perform based on her commands. Specifically, this leadership style does not employ group ideas yet, it is based solely on the leader’s concepts, effective in an emergent type situation. Another type of leadership style such as transformational, would allow Miranda to be respected instead of feared in the role of the company
