I was deeply motivated while doing this learning application module as I was clearly able to assess my personality traits and the leadership qualities in me. The Five Leadership Practices (5LP) provided me with three commitments of an exemplary leader that I found in myself. I discovered that I needed to work on experimenting and taking risks by gaining small wins and also trying out new things which would help me take risks, make mistakes and learn from them. This has always helped me gain new relationships. In my past experience, being a chair of the public relations committee with my student organization in college, I have always shared important and significant information with the student volunteers in the committee. This has demonstrated open communication by harmoniously sharing information regarding the updates in the group which has proven no private agenda and thereby making the student volunteers feel comfortable to trust me and each other.
Furthermore, MBTI Personality Type Test was an interesting part of the module. I believe, ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging) to some extent came out right for me after assessing myself in this test. I usually look for small occasions to celebrate. Delegation is what helps me solve problems for people close to me. Also, I am an emotional person and a great care-taker. I manage things as indicated by how I feel about it. With my sensing and judging characteristics I can understand people’s point of view very well and turn that into supportive judgment.     When I took the MBTI, some of the things I knew about myself were reinforced, and I also learned some new things about myself and my personality. The four letter code that I received was ISTJ, representing introversion, sensing, thinking, and judging. I expected each of these preferences, and when I read the definition of each, it further strengthened my understanding of what my personality really means in “technical terms.” My four letter code came with titles such as the Duty Fulfiller, the Responsible Realist and the Inspector, names I also agree that pertain to myself.
