This is Rafael your reporter for the Historian standing outside the Castle of Macbeth. I am here at the coronation of Macbeth to try to get the truth behind these vicious rumors that have been spreading about the brave, heroic, soldier who is about to be our King. I am currently dressed as a rich nobleman covered with a cloak but I also have the clothing under my cloak to pose as one of the servers who have been called in to attend to needs of the many guests that are here to witness Macbeth become our King. Remember Macbeth had just as much right to the throne as his predecessor King Duncan who met with an untimely death that is now spurring much negative talk about the noble man who will now be our King. Don’t shake your bloody head at me. See there! See there! Ghost! Ghost! Ghost!
Lady Macbeth then rushes to Macbeth and pulls him toward my seat.
“O proper stuff! This is another of your hallucinations you always get when afraid, go back to the quarters and get yourself together. I will entertain the guests. Go, before you ruin everything! GO! You fool,” Lady Macbeth sharply said to Macbeth.
I guess the servants may be right about Lady Macbeth. She had an innocent smile on her face to the crowd but her tone to Macbeth was as stabbing as a dagger. Lady Macbeth went back over to speak to the guests and told the servers to start the dinner. This was my chance to finally find the truth so I ran after Macbeth. I saw him tap several times on the stone work along the side, opening a secret passage. He then disappeared through the passage. I tapped on the same stone and gained entry to the passage.
Upon entering the passage, I could hear Macbeth having a conversation with someone but I did not see anyone. It seemed like he was talking to a ghost.
“Your highness, can I help you? What is wrong?” I asked Macbeth.
