You probably won’t find Kenner Plaza in tour guides like you would the famous French Quarter destinations. However, Kenner Plaza is indicative of the community and its commitment to
The primary problem would be the structure of the organization. This is due to the fact that there are thirteen departments in total which would lead to the failure of the ability to concentrate on long term viability of the business.

In the novel Grand Avenue. Greg Sarris uses the theme thread of poison to connect all of his separate stories about the Toms’, a Pomo Indian family. He proves that the roots of a family are the basis which gives the family its structure, even if those roots are bad. In the Toms’ family they’re roots were poisoned from the very founding of the family starting with Sam Toms’. His poison was not the fact that he tried to steal a married woman away, but that he was filled with secrets, deceptions, and self hatred. His family was founded on these poisened roots and passes the poisen down generation after gerneration. The only way to stop the poison, or inner self hatred taken out in other forms, was to let go of past and talk about the secrets and lies. Once a person does this they are able to learn from their mistake , in a sense the break free from the poison. If Sam Toms’ , the founder or root of the family, would have broken free of his poisen by talking about his mistake he made, his whole family per haps would have turned out completely different. As a result of his secrets and lies his family was rasied to make the same immoral desisions as he made throughout his life. His family, like Sam, didn't take responcilblity for their mistakes, which spread the poison onto the next generation. Tracing the poison throughout the Tom’s beginning at the roots, shows just how important the roots indeed are.

I think another element would be the shopping malls and the large number of stores in Downtown area. There is a large variety of stores, no matter what you are looking for you will find it here for sure. Everything that people require to satisfy themselves, starting from clothes and ending with food. This show that this branch of the city is an important urban part.
Goss argues that developers and designers of the built environment, specifically shopping centers and malls, use the power of place and understanding the structural layout of the space to boost consumption of the retail profits. Shopping centers are separated from the downtown area of shopping, either by distance and/or design. These establishments emerge for many to be the new heart and location for public and social life. In his article The "Magic of the Mall": An Analysis of Form, Function, and Meaning in the Contemporary Retail Built Environment, Goss also argues that the regulation of the spaces within the mall creates an atmosphere of "community" rather than one that is "public". This article’s main argument is that developers manufacture an illusion of doing more than just shopping when designing malls and shopping centers.
New Orleans Louisiana was known for being a very free-spirited, lively, tourist destination. Many people went there for the amazing southern food, the Jazz music festivals, and just to have a pretty much guaranteed good time. On August 29th 2005 things changed; Hurricane Katrina ripped through the city with rage leaving it in ruins. The whole city flooded and thousands of people were forced out of their homes; and unfortunately, many people lost their lives. Although Hurricane Katrina altered New Orleans forever, the city has then come together and has made a very strong recovery. I’m here to tell you that after everything this city has been through it remains a rewarding tourist destination.
The Merced mall leans towards more the negative side of the city and is quite noticeable since the sign of the mall seems to have never been changed since its establishment in 1969. This is interesting enough in itself because looking back at this previous election for mayor Mike Murphy (5) who promised to improve the Merced mall by remodeling and bringing in better stores, but we are still living with shopping areas that are all brought together by the main stores Target, Sears, JCPenney and Kohl's. It is more of strip mall rather than a real on like the Vintage Faire mall located in Modesto a larger neighboring city. The Merced Mall is located on the city's northwest side of the city near the 99 which includes Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and several restaurants that are not located in the same facility, but within a relative walking distance that noted in my mental maps. Speaking of storefronts and restaurants it seems Merced Main Street contains several restaurants, a movie theater, and other assorted shops such as Cold Stone creamery and even Billiards another communal space in
... to having higher sales figures. Thus, places with high foot traffic(people) would be desirable e.g Bedok Mall, is in a very good position as it is connected through an underpass to Bedok MRT and it is in a very accessible location.
For starters, we could take a few of those buildings and turned them into unique restaurants such as the Bread Bar, located on Locke, serving things like organic foods or exceptional meals that can’t be found anywhere else. Adding simple things like unique restaurants would instantly bring in more traffic because of people coming home from work and just stopping in for dinner or even a place for business meetings. Next take one of those buildings and make them into a Starbucks or Tim Hortons. Give people a place to go for a quick lunch or a meeting place. Mak...
