In her stories "The Storm" and "The Story of an Hour, Kate Chopin explores the theme of feminist women. The type of women in Kate Chopin’s stories would be considered protagonist women. Since the nineteenth century and today she has been explored more over time. Living in the south with family from French (Creole) with Irish background made it more interesting. Kate Chopin is a communal towards discrimination and sexual subtlety of the Cajun and Creole culture. Where she lived the majority of the time makes her one of the outstanding Southern fiction regionalist profound writer for feminist women.

Madame Victoire Verdon is the great grandmother, who was a zealous reader of the French Philosophy and Play. Kate seemed more receptive towards Madame’s studies about life. Madame taught Kate at an impressionable age to write, play piano, speak French, and told her gossip about the people in St. Louis which Kate wrote in her diary.
Kate Chopin was such a polymath, that she wanted to improve her skill so much more and decided to attend Sacred Heart Academy in St. Louis to improve her literacy. The Sacred Heart Academy was focused on producing better Catholic wives and mothers, by the nuns. They made it an all-women’s school, but for most women there was no further education for the women after high school. At the end, Mrs. Mallard was in sudden shock about her husband not being dead killing her with joy. The ironic part about the story was that she was relieved to be free from the thought husband deaf. And later knowing about his falsify death an hour of meditating gave her a heart attack of “joy” freeing her still of her marriage from over thinking about no longer seeing her
