When Wolf wanted the narrator to put cigarette pack in his pocket and he was shocked to feel the cold shell of the turtle, he was worried it's dead. But I can't do that in front of Wolf. He rubbed the turtle to warm it. I tucked the pack under Island. I can see my brother Francis's face when he told him the news. He was worried and he was going to cry, so the narrator tried his best to protect the Island, at the end, he was becoming a good friend, with Island. This was a personal evolution and can build up his personality and made his responsibility.
To sum up, "Turtle Island" features characters who struggle in the cultural; it included gangs, drugs, and violence.
