Deforestation is causing consequences impacting not only the forest and the animals but also the human cultural. Animals are in competition for food and their breeding rates are falling. Deforestation alsos cause an increase of floods, fires, and droughts. Consequences will keep rising if deforestation is not stopped.
In the article “ The Sumatran Rainforest Will Mostly Disappear Within 20 Years” John
Vidal argues on how deforestation will cause consequences within twenty years. John Vidal claims,” In only a few years, logging and agribusiness have cut Indonesia’s vast rainforest by half…. it may already be too late for the endangered animals-and for the people whose lives lie in ruin.” Vidal’s claim states that even though the government has renewed a moratorium, a temporary stop of an activity, it may be too late to save the animals. In the article is says, “ Only 240-400 tigers remain and fewer than 100 rhino are left in the forests.” He also says that by deforestation floods, fires, and droughts will be increased because lack of trees. The deforestation is causing many deaths and injuries because of human rights being abused. John Vidal’s argument is to completely stop deforestation, even though it may already be too late.
