Our imagination turned a mound of dirt into a native village. Janelle Makela is my closest friend and aunt. Since we are only nine months apart, we did lots of crazy things, almost insane, especially when we were younger. Janelle has been a positive influence to me by our adventures when we were younger, our amazing cooking skills, and making anyone smile when anybody is feeling low. My aunt Janelle can make a lot of people laugh even if it wasn't supposed to be funny. One day we were at some friend’s house, we ended up going to town while there she got chocolate milk. When we got back to the friends house she got her chocolate milk, and went to sit outside but she ended up falling over sending chocolate milk all over and then started laughing

Jane was born Jane Wilkinson on July 23, 1798, in Charles County, Maryland.She was the tenth child of Captain William Mackall and Anne Herbert Wilkinson. When Jane was less than a year old her father died. In 1811 her mother moved them to Mississippi Territory. The following year her mother died and she became an orphan at the age of 14. She moved in with her older sister,Barbara,and her husband,Alexander, on their plantation near Natchez. She met her soon to be husband James Long while she was there. They ended up married to each other on May 14, 1815.For the next four years they lived in vicinity and soon became a merchant in Natchez, In 1816, when Jane was 18, she gave birth to her first child Ann on November 26. Later she had another daughter, Rebecca, on June 16, 1819. Twelve days after Rebecca was born Jane wanted to join her husband in Nacogdoches, so she left with her two children and slave, Kian.She left them at the Calvit’s. Jane became ill, but she kept on with the trip and didn’t reach Nacogdoches till August.After a short amount of time she was staying there she had to move with other families to the Sabine to run away from the Spanish troops from San Antonio. She later returned to the Calvit’s to find out that her youngest daughter,Rebecca, had died. James and her
Helene Melanie Lebel, one of two daughters born to a Jewish family, was raised as a Catholic in Vienna. Her father died during World War I when Helene was only 5 years old, and when Helene was 15, her mother remarried. Helene entered law school, but at age 19, she started showing signs of an illness. By 1935, her illness became so bad severe that she had to give up her law studies. Helene was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and was placed in Vienna’s Steinhof Psychiatric Hospital. Although her condition improved in 1940, Helene was forced to stay in Steinhof. Her parents believed she would soon be released, but in August, her mother was informed that Helene was transferred to Niedernhart. She was actually transported to Brandenburg, Germany where she was led into a gas chamber or room? disguised as a shower room, and was gassed to death. Helene was listed as dying in her room of “acute schizophrenic excitement”.
At any point in time, someone’s world can be turned upside down by an unthinkable horror in a matter of seconds. On June 20th, 2001 in a small, suburban household in Houston, TX, Andrea Yates drowned her five children in a bathtub after her husband left for work. The crime is unimaginable, yes, but the history leading up to the crime is just as important to the story. Andrea Yates childhood, adulthood, and medical history are all potent pieces of knowledge necessary to understanding the crime she committed.
Katherine Johnson is a memorable African American mathematician and an icon for young black girls around the world. Katherine Johnson loved math. Early in her career, she was called a “computer.” She helped NASA put an astronaut into orbit around Earth, and then she helped put a man on the moon.
Maria Garcia was born on November 16, 1966, in Montecristi, Dominican Republic. She was encouraged by her father to study law and became a lawyer. She graduated from the Dominican University O & M school of Law. She became a justice of the peace in the misdemeanor court of the city of Montecristi in 1990 and was elevated to justice of the criminal court of the province of Montecristi.
Entertaining anecdotes on the other hand, are very amusing to me especially, Jerry Seinfeld talking about his halloween. The ecstatic mood combined with the childhood memories of him talking about how he wanted more and more candy was joyous and entertained all of us. Additionally, the clever wordplay he put throughout the whole speech like up for kids and down for adults made it easier for us to connect with his story. An amusing comedian to listen to is Jim Gaffigan, who amazes his audience every single time. His appearance on Conan was especially exciting because of his satirical manner of making fun of health trends. The way he said to his wife that he wouldn’t waste perfectly good ice-cream, made me giggle a lot. The final example of what makes me laugh is Mr. Bean. Physical comedy may not be for everyone, but the way Mr. Bean used his body to exaggerate the fact that he did not want to walk up to the top to get his swimsuit so he finds another one laying on the ground while a person is looking at
Monique Janeece Murdock, 101, was born on July 12, 2000 and died on August 17, 2101 in her home when the air conditioner went out which lead to a heat stroke. She preferred the burial in El Paso since her family lived there.
Donna Mulhearn is one of the 25 best just leaders of Australia. She became a human shield to save people in the Iraq war. The experience she gained gave her the courage to do positive things for the children in wars, whose parents have been killed or are living under threat or disaster. She is setting up safe houses for the families who lost their houses or are struggling. Donna created an NGO (non-governmental organization) setting up a shelter for street kids in Baghdad, a Centre for children that provides emergency aid to displaced families. She is speaking to schools, groups, and as many people as she can to raise awareness and funds to help the children. Donna was a remarkable woman who showed many values throughout her life. Donna showed
Heidi Sheridan went to college to see how much she could learn about a subject, which is why she ended up going to graduate school and getting another degree later. She wanted to go to college and learn, unlike many students today who go just to get a job.
Laughing is resorted to in times where we need to laugh. It’s an escape from reality, its comfort, its fear. Laughing subdues any emotion that is too high strung in our system. It lets it vapor out in a melancholy form that helps us cope with problems that no one else can really understand and help us with. In One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest it allowed emotional tension escape from the patients and made nurse Ratched lose her ward.

Jane was eighty years old when I met her and in what she called "the prime time." She had an old Cadillac that every Wednesday we would hop in and cruise out of town. Lucy would sit in the passenger side and talk to me about the most important things a woman needs to know always carry your lipstick with you, keep your pearls in your mattress, and never run out of love in your heart. She was under five feet tall and weighed less than a hundred pounds but she was my rock and in a short time I grew to love her and cherish every moment I was lucky enough to spend with her. Little did I know the impact she would have on my life and how a little bit of love from Jane prove to get me a long way in life.
Gabrielle Chanel remains one of the most well-known fashion designers of all time. She was born on August 19, 1883 in France and died in 1971. Chanel revolutionized the fashion industry with her distinctive style. After the death of her mother, she spent much of her childhood in an orphanage. The challenges of her early life helped build her strong character which influenced her path in life. Chanel was nicknamed “Coco” after a lost dog in a popular song she loved to sing. Her early career was funded by a succession of her rich lovers. This allowed her to open her first shop in Paris in 1910. She sold hats as well as some garments. Coco developed a significant following of clientele who enjoyed her practical sportswear creating great success.
Never forget to laugh. "If you can laugh at it, you can survive it" (Cosby). Life is difficult for everyone. It is how people deal with these strives and struggle is what matters. Sometimes, the best way to get a break from the hardships of life is to simply laugh with friends and family. It’s a Balance process. Some people can be caught up in life’s problems and forget to laugh. Laughter is the mental medicine for life. Laughter supports the health of the body. Laughter can break up the quietness in a room. Laughter can change the room from black and white to a rainbow of colors. Laughter is a result of looking at something in a positive light. Is the glass half empty or half full? Whatever the circumstance, never underestimate the power of a good giggle. Never forget to laugh.
