“Project managers are change agents: they make project goals their own and use their skills and expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team. They enjoy the organized adrenaline of new challenges and the responsibility of driving business results,” (Pmi.org, 2017)
This question was certainly a difficult one to answer. Even though Ivana is the proprietor of the organization obviously she has overlooked the fact that her workers are the ones who help make her company. However, this project can either make or break her company during this project. It is my opinion that Ivana can be described and seen as a tyrant and what I mean by this is that she leads her company through fear and intimidation. Some company cultures allow this type of frightening behavior. Even though some people may need threats and intimidation to focus on what they need to do. I have never met any. This team from the onset is miserable and results are seemingly

Ivana wants the group of employees to spend as much time as they can on the project, she will has a tendency to grow angry and blame employees if she knows the employees try to do other things that are not connected to the task. Meanwhile, her life is not being placed on hold she is going to dinner with friends and having a two-week vacation, while directing her employees to give up everything to complete the project.
It is my belief that the project member (Patrick), who seems to have taken on the role of the team leader should interact with Ivana throughout the project by focusing on the project and doing what Ivana ask them to perform. Also, he should communicate to Ivana about the progress of the project and the problems they are
When conducting research for my project, I came across a website that contained a few primary sources regarding the Salem Witch Trials. One of these primary sources was the photo of a legal document explaining the death warrant and reasons for execution of a woman named Bridget Bishop. Bishop was claimed to be a witch in Salem during the year 1692, and the document explaining her significance involving witchcraft resides in the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. My thesis for this primary source is that the judge and jury believed they were seeking justice by executing Bishop, a woman whose death was truthfully based on her differences as a person rather than actual crimes she committed.
First, Donna is a leader with energy and determination. Lussier and Achua state that leaders with energy and determination “have high energy with a positive drive to work hard to achieve goals.” (p. 37) This is true for Donna. In the video, the zoo employees mentioned several times that their leader is a hard worker who is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Upon her arrival, the CEO did not hesitate to immerse herself at the lowest level of zoo operations. Donna also trained as a zookeeper in order to learn the frustrations of her employees. Alongside her employees, Donna got her hands dirty in the trenches, which some may consider non-CEO type work. Donna proved that she had the energy to do the hard work and that she possessed the determination to identify the employee’s issues so she could solve them.
As days go by she finds herself growing to dislike management noting how she is constantly up and about while those that supervise sit all day. She has to constantly be...
According to the Team-Player Styles, we can see that Juanita is a communicator. A communicator is a great listener, always supportive, and focus on process (Ngo par.3). Juanita would often communicate with her employees for acquiring information and small detail by listening, talking, and observing them. She is very supportive of her employees maximizing their potential (Nelson and Quick 1). On the other hand, Sandra is a contributor in the Team-Player Styles, which means she is a task-oriented team member who can provide good information (Ngo par.1). We can see that Sandra
Andrea Yates was born on July 2nd, 1964 in Houston, Texas, and she was raised in the Houston area (Denno, 2003). Her father was a retired auto shop teacher who died of Alzheimer’s disease shortly before the murders of Yates’s children, and her mother Jutta Karin was a home maker (Denno, 2003). Andrea was the youngest of five, and was a high achiever; and in high school she was captain of the swim team, a National Honor Society member, and valedictorian of her 1982 graduating class (Denno, 2003). She continued her education at a two year nursing programming at the University of Houston, then she went to the University of Texas School of Nursing in Houston graduating in 1986 (Denno, 2003, p.7). During the years from 1986 to 1994 she was employed
During your senior year of high school, the word “college” came into mind. The counselor, principal and teachers are working extremely hard to prepare for college. Should I go to Community, State, University or Ivy League colleges? From My Beloved World, Sonia Sotomayor is preparing for college. She does not know which college to go but she got herself into something enormous. Although Sonia Sotomayor is confused about which college, she was accepted to one of the greatest colleges.
“ You always wonder whether the attacks on my capabilities came from an honest evaluation of my accomplishments or from stereotypical presumptions that we [people of color] just can't do it, for some reason. This is, for an accomplished Latino, an accomplished African American, an accomplished anyone who disproves stereotypes, it's a constant battle in your life.” - Sonia Sotomayor. ("TOP 25 QUOTES BY SONIA SOTOMAYOR (of 147) | A-Z Quotes.’’). Justice Sotomayor is an inspiration to me and a lot of other young girls. She is a great example of how you can achieve greatness with hard work and dedication even if it seems like all the cards are against you. Sonia was born in the Bronx on June 25, 1954 to Juan Sotomayor and Celina Baez, who were both native Puerto Rican (www.oyez.org/justice/sonia_sotomayor). Her family lived in a public housing project in south Bronx (www.oyez.org/justice/sonia_sotomayor). When justice Sotomayor was 9 years old her father passed away, leaving her mother to raise her and her little brother Juan alone. However, that did not stop Celina from getting the best for her children. Knowing that education is a very important part of life she enrolled Sonia in Cardinal Spellman High School in New York, where she graduated valedictorian (“Background on Judge Sonia Sotomayor”). After this she attended Princeton university (“Background on Judge Sonia Sotomayor”). There she graduated summa cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa (“Background on Judge Sonia Sotomayor”). She was also a co-recipient of the M. Taylor Pyne Prize, the highest honor Princeton awards to an undergraduate (“Background on Judge Sonia Sotomayor”). She then decided to get her
Pediatric Dentists promote dental health of children as well as serve as education resources for parents. Healthy teeth are the results of healthy eating. “Like the rest of the body, the teeth, bones and the soft tissues of the mouth need a well-balanced diet. Children should eat a variety of foods from the five major food groups. Most snacks that children eat can lead to cavity formation. The more frequently a child snacks, the greater the chances for tooth decay.” (dentist4kid.com, 2014). Choose nutritious foods such as vegetables, low fat yogurt, and low fat cheese, if your child must snack, which are healthier and better for children’s teeth.
Team Process is defined as the team members’ behaviors and interactions, occurring over time. It is through this process that all of the members’ expertise and knowledge, along with other inputs, functioning in the group environment, manufacture an output. MGI’s team process seems ineffective, resulting a lot of conflicts among the subgroups of the MGI team and inability to complete the business plan. At the “launch” of the team in Mellon Hall on HBS campus, it was clear that the team did not have any specific role for each of the team members, nor was there a clear leadership arrangement. “..It seemed to me that Sasha saw our role a...
If I had to make a suggestion to better manage the situation, I’d probably suggest the organization to practice and use collaborating as a management strategy. I’d propose that Kate and Tom get together with their other willing co-workers and come up with an appropriate solution to the organization’s problems. When they feel comfortable and satisfied with their possible solutions and proposal, they should then pitch it to the hierarchy of the organization: Jeff Donaldson, Rick Clark, etc. This would hopefully produce a mutually and completely satisfactory solution.
“Project teams operate in global environments, and because they do, there are a host of issues that face project managers” (Chapman, 2008, week 1). Project teams are all over the world and face to face interaction is limited. Projects can be conducted via electronics; phone, web conferencing, instant messaging, fax, email and video conferencing. Communication, leadership and direct support from the executives are key factors in running a successful project. Clear roles need to be established by the PM based on individual member skills and understanding of the project goals.
English class is a place where we can learn many things, one of them are short stories, this is a fiction work with a fully development theme but significantly shorter and less elaborated than a novel that require the following elements, characters, setting, conflict, point of view, theme, and plot. For an example of a short story I will mention “The Everest Story” this is a book that we already read in this class, and another example I have is the “The Thirty-Nine Steps”, this is a book we are reading and I will give my opinion of it.
Beginning with the general concept of management, and more specifically Miranda’s style of management. I must note that, despite her constant harshness, and even cruelty, qualities that lead to the top two out of ten mistakes a manager can make, Miranda is an undeniably capable and effective manager. In fact, one could say that her harshness acts like a sort of crucible to purge from Andy anything within her that is inconsistent with the culture of Runway, and commands respect from, as well as motivates, the rest of her employees. Additionally, Miranda clearly
Over the course of the semester we learned that people are the most important resource so I was curious to see how the human element of project management would affect the quality of our deliverables. Since our project was just for class, I was surprised at how well the project manager, analyst & team leaders took to their roles of managing & supporting the team members. In the Results Team, our team leader made an active effort to understand the different personality types before she delegated tasks. Looking back on how we communicated during the first week to the week of the project roundtable, it was obvious that she was aware of this human element and in turn could lead effectively. While I don’t believe team members need to be coddled, it’s important that a team leader is empathetic and understanding towards
Miranda is being inconsiderate of her staff and their lives. Human Resources should constantly be involved with the lives of all the employees in all departments to ensure that they are happy with their work hours, pay, and how they are treated. This will ensure a positive and productive work environment where goals and profits are achieved.
