Introduction
The views of homosexuality vary all around the world. Some countries accept it, some tolerate it, and others are not so forgiving. In Islam, homosexuality is not a sin; it’s considered a crime under the Islamic law. The Islamic laws view on homosexuality as a sin is formed from the writings of the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad. For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds” (Qur'an 7:80-81).
The second reference is, "What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, and leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are forward folk" (Qur'an 26:165).
The Qur’an is a book of guidance, which is meant to guide Muslims through life. It is words for God, which are meant to be followed. The Islamic view of homosexuality dates back to the very beginning with the written words from God.

The negative view of homosexuality is not only in the Qur’an, but has progressed into the classroom setting. The following are excerpts on homosexuality, taken from the Saudi Ministry of Education Textbooks for Islamic Studies:
Homosexuality is one of the most disgusting sins and greatest crimes... It is a vile perversion that goes against sound nature, and is one of the most corrupting and hideous sins… The punishment for homosexuality is death. Both the active and passive participants are whether or not they have previously intercourse in the context of a legal marriage...Some of the companions of the Prophet stated that [the perpetrator] is to be burned with fire. It has also been said that he should be stoned or thrown from a high place.
This view has become a way of life; it is immersed in the country and culture by all. The Sunni is the largest branch of Islam. There are four mainline schools of Sunni and they all have different ways of punishment against the act of homosexuality, but there common factor is they believe homosexuality is worth a severe penalty.
