Have you ever wondered what were to happen if you got sick and were not able to go to the doctors and get help? Many people choose to go into the nursing field because you do not just get a reward in profits, but also knowing that you are helping people feel better each day is a good feeling to have inside. A study was done on nurses with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing that found 28.57% of nurses feel satisfied everyday with their nursing career and 49.14% often feel satisfied with their career choice. A nurse who is friendly and helpful and wants to get patients back to their normal lives are going to be much more personable and be more encouraging to the patients and help them feel like themselves again. Today nurses have the option to choose from one hundred and four different specific areas to specialize their degree in. A study was done on a group of nurses from each specialty area showing that medical/surgical nursing is one of the most popular areas to work as a nurse with 47.61% of nurses have being a medical/surgical nurse. Depending on how long each nurse has worked in the hospital and how much schooling they have allows more flexibility in their job and they do not only stay at one type of nurse but are able to rotate to different types of nurses and see what they are like. A survey was done on the four different types of nursing licenses and found that 78.94% of nurses have a RN licenses which is the most common and 5.53% of nurses have a APRN licenses which is advance practice registered nurse. You take two years of your start up classes with two years of just nursing classes. A lot of hospitals require experience, like an internship for a year. After you go to a four year school and get your BSN there are many fields of specialties you can study ("Requirements to Be a Nurse in the U.S."). Some can include rehabilitation nursing, cardiovascular nursing, and my favorite, pediatric nursing ("Explore Specialties."). Pediatric nursing would be something I would highly consider for many reasons. I have nannied my whole life and am very good with kids. You need to have a lot of patientions with some playfulness when dealing with kids. They get scared and need someone to tell them that everything is going to be ok. A nurse with only a two year college experience is not going to nearly have as much experience and knowledge as a nurse who has gone through two extra years of schooling and training. After finishing up term one of my nursing career, I can officially say I feel nursing is most definitely the profession I have been searching for. I have had an amazing experiences and practice by going to clinical which helped me improve upon my nursing skills and EOP SLO. It can be seen, being prepared, maintain professionalism and safe practice, having exceptional communication, respecting culture, adapting care across the lifespan, promoting health education, and having an admirable nursing process were all valued and demonstrated by me.
This paper serves to inform individuals about the benefits, challenges and education facing nurses. In the review of literature, one source is obtained from the SVSU database which describe the benefits of nursing; two additional SVSU database sources will also describe the challenges. In addition, a case study is evaluated, which shows the correlation between the career and the pass/failure of the NCLEX-RN exam. This paper concludes with an analysis of the information gathered, showing why nursing is a field that others should consider as a career.

All my life I have always wanted to be a nurse. Since I was younger I can recall playing with stethocopes. I have four siblings so my parents paying for my education has never been an option for me. That having said I became a Medical Assistant. Becoming a medical assistant has been a great blessing in my life. I have been able to work with patients, while going to school but I am ready to further my education. I want to be able to provide patients with medications, IV's, and many other skills that will put my full knowledge to use. To become an registered nurse I need to have at least an associates degree in college. If I take the time and effort to have a bachelors degree then I can get better jobs and earn more money.
