Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare's most famous plays written in the 16th century that ends in the two love birds dying. Shakespeare has written a lot of plays, most of his plays are about emotions such as love, hatred and sadness. So who is to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death? There are a lot of people that could be blamed for their death. One of the reasons could be the family fued between the Montagues and the Capulets or it could be Romeo and Juliet's own fault. Although many people or factors are involved, Friar Lawrence is the most to blame for Romeo and Juliet's tragic death.

In the beginning Friar Lawrence should have never agreed to marry the two star crossed lovers. If he didn't marry them maybe their relationship could be a secret and then no one would die. Friar Lawrence's plan had a lot of flaws and missed crucial parts that were needed for his plan to work. His plan being that if Juliet and Romeo got married, the bitter feud between the Montagues and the Capulets which failed obviously. One crucial part Friar Lawrence didn't think about was how Juliet and Romeo would be able to tell their parents that they're in love and about the marriage. Although Friar Lawrence’s heart was definitely in the right place, his decision ignored the risk that thing could go wrong. …show more content…

Instead of telling Juliet to fake her death he should have advised her to confess her love for Romeo to her father. And maybe Capulet would have understood because of how highly he talked of Romeo at the party. Of course Friar Lawrence’s plan in theory could have worked but there were too many
