Introduction Intrepid Travel was founded by Australian natives Darrell Wade and Geoff Manchester in 1988. Starting as a vacation with friends, the pair quickly realized that this was a massive opportunity to break into the tourism industry. Today, Intrepid “sends over 100,000 travellers across the globe each year and employs more than 1,000 staff” (Intrepid Group, 2018). With over 800 itineraries spanning across Europe, Asia, Africa, North & South America, the Middle East, Australia and the Artic & Antarctic. The Specialist Travel Advisors are individuals who assist with the actual travel booking. They are usually well versed in travel throughout the world, have a passion for the industry and experience in customer service. Group Leaders are the individuals who run and organize the travel excursions. The leaders can be local to the destination and have a passion for showing their country or have a wide experience with travel guiding.
