Making this assignment had me at my advantage as I belonged from a family that absolutely travels a lot. As our family trips were influenced out by travel experiences by either one us or friends and relatives , it never really occurred to me as to what were the factors that influenced my family members to choose a destination with their own trips with their friends. With that, I asked two of my family members, both of which belonging to different generations but has a similarity of often spending their vacations with friends. My cousin’s definition of hassle free was more about his budget and as long as he is secured with money, equipped with a few travel stories and experiences and going to safe destination he is up for the trip. With my aunt it was about having convenient and safe process and having a knowledgeable and trusted travel guide. Knowing the differences among my family members made me understand more on the theories being taught in our class. In the effort to support a growing population of diverse students, states are encouraging schools to promote family engagement and education equality. To help with this promotion schools need to have a welcoming and friendly environment for students, family, and staff members. The purpose for family engagement is to get families evolved in education to help support the academic success of their children. The most common family engagement opportunity is an open house right before school starts and parent/teacher conferences. However, family engagement events should be promoted throughout the year just not 3 times a year.
Family Event & Response When I was three years old my father was involved in a work accident, falling a complete story from a suspension bridge in a refrigerated goods packing facility. My mother was at home with me, waiting for my father to return from work so that she may leave for her graveyard shift at another factory. The phone rang and she answered it expecting to be her sister, but it was my dad’s place of work notifying my mother of the accident, she didn’t speak much English
This essay will explore the role gender has played in the life of my father, both in relation to him and his masculine identity and his experiences of fatherhood. My piece is based on both the experiences I have had growing up and a short interview I had with my father a few days ago. I will attempt to critically analyze the information I obtained aided by the course readings and the various concepts discussed in class with respect to the male identity and how it is affected both socially and culturally. Such concepts which are to be discussed are father - infant bonding, masculine identity, gender policing and gender division of labor. I will also attempt to understand how these concepts apply to my father’s life and shaped his masculinity and in turn my own.

Going on a road trip with my family means the world to me. We drove to another state during summer vacation, and it was by far the best road trip I have ever been on.
