The name cancer is given to a group of diseases. Cancer can start anywhere in the body. What happens is some of the body’s cells begin to split without ending and start to spread to nearby tissues. The normal process of cell division and replacement is altered when cancer starts. When cells become abnormal, the old cells survive, and replacement cells are created even though they aren’t necessary. The unneeded cells can begin to divide without end and may end up resulting in tumors. The majority types of cancer will form what are known as solid tumors. These are masses of tissue. Malignant tumors are the ones that are cancerous. This means they can enter into tissue within close proximities.
