People get their musings in the oddest of places, and Ice-T doesn't surprise me. He was inspired by Iceberg Slim, a ghetto poet/novelist.
It was Ice-T who inspired hip-hop. That's right...as a musician, Ice-T was extremely vital to the implementation of gansta glorified music or what was referred to as hip-hop music. Ice-I was a hard hitta with his deeply seeded sound coming from the heart and his own eyes. He is more than a rapper; Ice-T is an icon.

His Music Though
Ice-T debut his first album in 1987 called Rhyme Pays. The saucy rapper started putting together stories about that street life he knew all too well, hence “6 'n the Mornin'” and “Squeeze the Trigger”. Oh my goodness, people didn't like that either. Tipper Gore's principal encounter with the organization, the Parent's Music Resource Center, mandated that a warning label be put of his albums to warn of its sexually explicit content. Not only that, but the violence as well.
It wouldn't be long before everybody knew who Ice-T, the rapper was. He was all over the mags but Rolling Stone in particular, displaying a police officer's uniform. He lost financial associations with the air play of that song. Time Warner would ask fellow partners to remove Ice-T's album for their shelves. After a mutual arrangement was made, Ice-T severed ties with the company in '93, taking with him five gold albums.
T-Bone Walker was born on May 28, 1910, in Linden Texas; his real name was Aaron Thibeaux Walker. T-Bone’s father and his mother, were both musicians who separated not long after T-Bone was born(“T-Bone”, n.p). T-Bone once said that his earliest memory was hearing his mother playing blues guitar on the front porch (“T-Bone”, n.p). Through his church choir and his street singing stepfather, T-Bone became interested in music. By the time he was 10, T-Bone was accompanying his stepfather at drive-in soft-drink stands (“T-Bone and Rock&Roll’, n.p). Around the same time, he became the “lead boy” for Blind Lemon Jefferson from 1920 to 1923; Walker would lead Jefferson down Texas streets. (“T-Bone and Rock & Roll”, n.p).
The hip hop culture began in the suburbs of New York over 30 years ago and has gone through drastic changes over this time. Hip Hop contains four different elements including: graffiti, rap, disc jockey and break-dancing. In the 1970’s, musical artists began to express themselves like Kool DJ Herc. Rap music began to spread through the urban neighborhoods of New York City and people used a new form of expression that gave a chance to sing about anything.
Both a rapper and an MC, Tupac Shakur was a very famous artist during his short time on Earth. Better known as “Makaveli” or “2pac,” Shakur influenced many young teens and adults his age. 2Pac was born in East Harlem, NY during June of 1971. The name Tupac comes from a revolutionary leader who was killed after leading a revolution against the spanish in the 18th century. Most of the family Tupac was raised around were involved with crimes, drugs, and charge convictions. His first job in the industry as an MC was with a hip-hop group Digital Underground. Along with being an MC for this group, he was also a backup dancer and roadie. He was also featured on the group’s song for a soundtrack to a movie called “Nothing but Trouble.” He went on to record both an EP and full studio album with Digital Underground before leaving to pursue his own solo career. Rap music became popularized in Atlanta and the rest of the South in the early to mid-1980s. The first rap to come out of the city of Atlanta was uptempo party music with heavy bass and very obvious Florida influence. Hits like “Whoomp! (There It Is)” by Tag Team, and “Jump” by Kriss Kross defined the pre-Outkast era of Atlanta hip-hop. While these songs were immensely popular (“Whoomp!” is ranked by Billboard as one of the greatest songs of all time (“Greatest of All Time”) while “Jump” was one of the top 3 selling songs of 1992 (“Week Ending May”), groups from the city, for the most part, were commonly seen as “novelty” and “kiddie crews” (“Kriss Kross: Da Bomb”). Hip hop culture has been around since the 1970s. Multiple sources all come down to the South Bronx in New York City, as the origin of hip hop culture. The culture began to take its shape within the African American, Afro-Caribbean, and Latino communities. The father of the start of this culture was a Jamaican-born DJ named Clive Campbell but also known as DJ Kool Herc. He brought forth a new sound system and the Jamaican style of “toasting.” Toasting was when Jamaicans would talk or rap over the music they played.
