The labor systems in the world have rapidly developed to become more civilized. In Latin America and the Caribbean from 1750 to 1824 most of the labor was done by slaves. By 1917 most of the work was done by indentured servants from other countries. Freom 1750 to 1800 Latin America had a large working class of Mita and Slaves. The mita was a labor system used for lands assianged to the state and the region; all communties were expected to contribute, an essential aspect of Inca imperial control. The mita were subject to poor condition in mines, similar to what was occuring at the same time in Africa with El Mina with Portuguese working Africans to get goods, like gold. The slaves were needed and imported because the native population declined
