Anne Frank was a Jewish girl that lived in Amsterdam during World War II. She was hiding in her father's warehouse. They lived there for two years with the Van Daan family; with one child. The Franks and Van Daans resided there for more than two years before they were captured and sent to concentration camps around Europe. One night a thief broke into the building. They were discovered. A few months went by before they were captured. The thief gave the police their location so he would not go to jail for the break in. All of the Frank and Van Daan family died except for Otto Frank, Anne's father. Anne left behind a diary that she used to keep track of their day to day experiences in the "Secret Annex". In the first quote she understands that Miep has a life on top of what they make her do for them. She also wants Miep to have this free time to herself to do whatever she wants. Anne is caring because she understands that Miep is doing a lot for them. The second quote shows that she realizes what she is doing to her mother. Anne cares because she wants to take it back. She believes that she said that in the heat of the moment. This shows that Anne cares about her mother even though her mother makes her angry. She also understands that the things that she did and said to her mother were inappropriate and rude. The third quote shows that she is understanding of her mother's situation with her. She understands why her mom does what she does. She also cares because she feels bad for her mother. If Anne did not care about her mother, she would still be saying rude and awful thing to her
