‘The music industry is the business that takes an artist’s work and makes it available to the public. It involves a wide range of activities, from the creation of the music itself and the production of the media through which the music can be shared to the marketing and distribution of the finished products.’

The music industry is vital and covers many avenues; within each avenue there are many of different aspects from the creative right through to the inventive. For example here are some of the avenues available that the music industry offers.

Without them the industry would be worth nothing. These are the people that create and compose the music we so greatly appreciate. These can either be musicians, vocalists, songwriters or anyone else who helps in the creation of the music itself. Songwriter’s wages are often paid by selling songs that they have written for the artist for a fixed sum or even take a share of the royalties that the song makes when it is finally ready to be produced and sold to the public. (Royalties) Is a small amount of money earned from each time the song is used/purchased/listened too. This is also where the musicians themselves earn a large portion of their wages. Whether it being from their, songs/albums and merchandise (items that are affiliated with the band/musician) the amount of profit earned is usually split depending on whether it is a band (where it will be separate fairly between the band members, manager/s, agent/s) or a solo artist where it will just be separated in order to pay their manager/s and agent/s. Its important to know about the artists and composers because they are the most important and at the heart of the music industry. It would not exist without artists or composers and other musicians need to understand how other musician’s work and the slight differences between each and every artist to overall become more knowledgeable in the …show more content…

An Artist manager is someone who is in charge of running the business side of an artist/s or band to enable the performers to focus on creating the music its self. Small UN signed bands or artists usually have a manager that takes care of many other things, such as, promotion and accounting, and generally any role that needs to be filled. A manger for a larger band or artist will act as a supervisor for anybody else who works for the band and makes sure that the label they are signed to are providing the fair treatment to their client, such as making sure that the promotional side of things are done properly, and that tours ect are being booked in advance and
