"If industry is to be successful in dealing with public opinion . . . it must learn the language of the people, it must consider the study of public opinion as important as any phase of its operations. Media is known for taking an issue and exaggerating the truth and putting out the bias of their own political ideology. In sports media the same could be said about how the sports analyst have their bias about teams, players and coaches. This bias directly hurts the image and reputation of people who may not want the attention or made a mistake that was blown out of proportion. Also sports media tend to cover many rumors that may not always be true, but even if the rumor isn’t true at the end, it tends to affect the viewer’s perspective anyway. Sports media outlets such as ESPN and recently Fox Sports 1 hurt or enhance the images of players, coaches, owners, and teams by covering and reporting rumors that are sometimes untrue and they also broadcast sportscasters' biased opinions ultimately causing the public to change their opinions of sports figures.
In Stephen King’s essay, “On Writing” he stresses the importance of reading as an invaluable tool to improve one’s writing. However, why does being a good writer matter to someone who is not a writer? In the New York Times article, “What Good Writing Indicates, and Doesn’t,” Brock Haussamen writes that “good writing—writing that is clear and interesting and free of most surface errors—is a reliable indicator of certain job-rated abilities.” Enhanced writing skills, developed by extensive reading, showcase job-related abilities, improve written and verbal communication skills and can lead to advancement in the workplace.

Sports Broadcasting has brought athletes into the forefront of popular culture by showing their personalities on and off the field to the public. The genre of sports broadcasting is typically just thought to be the simple commentating of sporting events. However, there are two other massive subgenres of sports broadcasting known as Reporting and analyzing. The reporters are the dirty work diggers of the industry by using investigative skills and tough questions to gain interesting perspectives from the players and coaches themselves. The answers the reporters gain are then reviewed by the minds who try to use the information in a way that captivates audiences all over by analyzing these statements in whichever way they feel important.
After reading the essay On Writing by Stephen King, it was apparent that improving writing skills is important. The beginning to forming a better career is to first read because “one learns most clearly what not to do by reading bad prose”. (King) Improving writing skills can further improve verbal communication skills and help to advance in life. When someone improves their writing skills, they can then improve their verbal communication skills. Improving both verbal and written communication skills will lead to a better career path.

Also, if they do not critically think before they begin to communicate eventually no one will listen.
The downfall of the influence that the media has on sports is that they can be bias toward situation that may arise in the sports world. There can also be too much or not enough sports coverage on at time when society needs them. Athletes often feel that they receive too much attention and can’t live their lives. A prime example is Seattle Seahawk running back Marshawn Lynch, who has publicly voiced his frustration with the media, even going as far as answering every question asked with “I’m just here, so I wont get fined” twenty-five times during Super Bowl media
Journalism as a reporter career requires classes that should be taken while she is in high school.
