Nursing Role and Management: The nurses role is important in patient care because nurses spend more time with the patients than the doctors do, so it is essential that we build a relationship with our patients. In order to build a relationship with our patients it is vital to have good time management in order to spend the proper time educating each patient. Without good time management skills then there would be no time to provide the proper education each patient needs before going home. One of the most important roles a nurse could have is to educate their patients. When it comes to Rh incompatibility education is the single most important thing that a nurse could do. A lot of parents and woman do not know or understand that their blood type can affect the baby. According to an article by Nasim, Mustufa and Shahid (2011), woman lack the knowledge of what complications can happen if they do not understand how being Rh negative can affect the pregnancy. Educating woman who are of child bearing age about how they should know their blood type and what they can do if they are Rh negative to protect their babies during pregnancies. Offering more education and increasing the knowledge will help decrease the number of babies born with defects. With the pediatric lifespan it is more of the genetic abnormally or birth defects that affect perfusion. With the congenital heart defects perfusion is affected because oxygenated blood and deoxygenated blood can get switched or the blood may not be able to get out of the heart because of certain defects.
