Nursing knowledge guides nursing practice. Nursing knowledge advanced the health and well-being of individual clients, families, and communities. The rapidly increasing resources available for nursing research have opened numerous opportunities for studying essential issues in promoting health, ameliorating the side effects of illness and the consequences of treatments while increasing the health outcomes of our patients and their loved one. (Sue, 2000).There so many challenges that are facing the future of nursing practice, one of them is the presence of the wide gap between the theory and practice .one of the primary problem or concern is the difficulty of transferring available knowledge into clinical practice. I remember there was a time on my first few weak of orientation I felt like I didn’t belong the healthcare field. I was about to quit the nursing profession, but one of the experienced nurses who was working with me told me that you couldn't run away from yourself just hang in there you will figure it out you are not the alone. I could say there was a significant gap between theory and practice. In real life practice, I learned so many things through everyday training and experiences from working difference patients with the different case. In school, we learned the importance of evidence-based practice but to incorporate that knowledge in real life practice is a different problem. In nursing practices, we come across patients with various health issues that require a solution right then. From this vantage point, the student begins to learn the value of looking at what is perceived as pure clinical problems in a more significant context. (Ferrara, 2010). Knowledge and practice issues have a long-standing history in nurse education and are a continuous source of controversy to which there is no easy or perfect solution (Hewison, A & Wildman, S., 1996). This tension between theory and practice and research which can be usefully exploited in teaching and research (Rafferty, Allcock, & Lathlean, 1996). Emphasizing the importance of the issue (Rolfe, 2003), states that the theory-practice gap is felt most acutely by student nurses. The student may find themselves torn between the demands of their tutor and the practicing nurses. They are faced with real clinical situations in which they are unable to generalize from what they have learned in theory. This gap creates the biggest challenge for most of the new graduate. If we don’t step up and fix this problem of the theory-practice difference, it can cause a huge problem because the principles of practice established in curricula are not well aligned with the principles operating in the workplace. If this problem is not deeply addressed, it may be another factor on why new nurses are leaving the practice
