Bamboo is the fastest growing grass on earth. It is strong, renewable, durable and it can grow up to three feet each day. The growth pattern of Bamboo is a miracle of nature. It not only can proliferate and survive in the harshest of circumstances but can also grow at considerable rate. Bamboo is a truly versatile material with high tensile strength, more than steel, which makes it extremely flexible and extreme compression structural strength more than wood, brick etc, which provides possibility of myriad usage ranging from architectural elements to small products of everyday usage. It has many mythical stories attached to it, as mankind has used bamboo since time immemorial. It is one of the most ubiquitous vegetation seen in any part of India. In several culture, it is believed that humanity emerged from Bamboo. The “kalpavriksha” that is wish fulfilling tree, is a strong concept in Indian mythology. Bamboo is one of those trees, where every part of the tree is used for various purposes.
