Portfolio-1 Project Document: Communities A community is a social unit who share something in common like norms, value and identity that is situated in a given area such as – village, city, and neighborhoods. “Every human is a part of the community, they have maintained different community’s norms and values which are goal oriented”. That means, they set of their goal to what community’s they belong to? I am an inhabitance of Muslim community where I maintain community’s rules, regulation, norms, and values for better life. Now the question is what is Muslim community? “The Muslim community is based on sincerity of human feelings and fulfillment of right and needs to, every member” (Islamweb.net- “The Ideal Muslim in the Community”). Still that was helping me to know the better understanding of religion and after that I understood, what is the obligation to the community? In my eight grade student life I had gotten an opportunity to teach the Quran in third grade student without any benefit, and that was making me confident to obliging the community. Most Muslim community are selfless when others reach out to them for help no matter the race, religion, or background. When I was a college student in 2008, northern part of my district was affected by a cyclone where the majority of the community practiced Hinduism. Most of them lost their houses, cattle, and precious assets; and without a doubt Muslim communities reached out to them with donations, medicine, food drive, and physical labor to build back the community. I was fortunate enough to be one of the volunteers during this crisis because I got to see two different communities connect without any hatred to focus on a common
