While other kids were outside having fun at the playground, I was at the library reading books and learning about the different animals. However, as I matured, I realized that being a veterinarian isn’t just about caring for and assisting injured animals. Being a veterinarian means having the ability to make quick decisions in stressful situations, showing complete dedication and passion to this profession, and being able to effectively communicate to pet owners.

A vet tech, or veterinary technician, assists vets in diagnosing and treating animals. The type of work you will do varies widely depending on your experience and what your specialties are. A vet tech in a small-town does different things than an experienced vet tech does in an emergency hospital. A vet tech does general animal nursing, radiology, anesthesia, talking to clients, and more. A vet tech does not operate on the animals, give subscriptions, or give patient diagnosis. The type of work environments are in private clinics, zoos, animal shelters, animal laboratories, and more. A Vet Technicians job is to be calm and not show emotions to the patient and family so the family won’t have emotional distress towards the clinic.

I want to be a nurse, specifically a nurse practitioner. I have always been fascinated with the medical field and see a bright future in it for me. I have the opportunity of meeting new people every day with a variety of personalities. There is always something new to discover in this field. A nurse practitioner's job is to be able to diagnose and treat illnesses. They also prescribe medicine and run physical exams. I am highly interested in pursuing the career of a nurse practitioner because the healthcare field is always in need for medical professionals, it pays well, and I am helping people at the same time.
This career will fit me perfectly as I want to help out wildlife animals that need that special treatment and care to be healthy and happy captive animals. I have been behind the scenes once as I little boy as they gave the ginormous white rhinos a bath and after that moment I knew I had to become a veterinarian. As I kept growing up I always watched animal planet, discovery planet, and national geographic wild, which really amazed me as a kid. I learn more facts by watching those shows then I ever have at science class during school. Everyday there is more to learn as wildlife species across the globe from Africa to Asia, to Australia and much more.
In the future I want to become a zoologist. I have always been completely fascinated by animals and their growth and behavior. Many zoologists specialize in a specific field such as mammalogy, ornithology, herpetology, and many more. I have not yet decided which branch I desire to specialize in but each one has its own appeal to me. However, becoming a zoologist is easier said than done.
Ever since I was younger I loved animals and I wanted to do to something with them as my career when I got older. I always had either a dog or cat when I was younger. I remember when I was about 15 or 16 years old, I lived with just my mom and I was no longer in school because I decided to quit. I had two older sisters but they were off at school in a different state so it was just me and my mom and she worked a lot of hours. So I was alone most of the times and my pets kept me company and I didn’t feel so alone or scared to be home alone. I could always count on my dogs to be there for me. I know they cannot talk to me, but them just being there when I was upset or even happy made my day go by better until my mom would come home from work. I didn’t have any friends to hang out with anymore because of not being in school.
