“Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts.” Charles Dickens was born on February 7, 1812, in Portsmouth, England. He was thirty one years old and already a very successful novelist when ‘A Christmas Carol’ first appeared in London 1843. Before he wrote this novel he had become in one of the best-selling writers at that time because of the incredible novel he had written. Dickens was inspired to write this novel after he spoke at a charity night to raise money for an institution that helps poor people.
Many characters appear in this novel but the main one is Ebenezer Scrooge and old and wealthy man that does not believe in Christmas, hates people, arrogant that anything brings

He had a poor head for finances, and in 1824 found himself imprisoned for debt.
