People today are just like Plato described them to be in his “Allegory of the Cave” when it comes to being passionate about their beliefs. Everyone has at least one cause that they are passionate about, such as protecting human rights. Individuals have these passions because they help to shape who they are. Plato uses metaphorical language to explain how the prisoners in the story are very closely related to people’s passion today.
