How do people have an effect on erosion? mad isA According to the cites that I placed onto my “work cited” page, people have an affect on erosion in many different ways. From building things on top of where water runs, to digging ponds and making the wind blow differently.
Precipitation is the most forceful factor when it comes to causing erosion. Erosion is dependent on the pressure, intensity, duration, and consistency. Rainfall is always happening. Everyday, somewhere in the world, it is raining. By the action of rain dropping onto soil, making it become loose and break apart into smaller pieces. Erosion is greater, not only when rainfall is heavy, but concentrated over short periods.
What type of erosion can there be? mad isAnother bad thing that people have a tendency to not stop doing is the tillage of the soil. There are …show more content…

“How in the world?”, you might ask. Well, the method is obviously part of the overall strategy to conserve soil and water. They can be biological or mechanical. Such as, Strip Cropping, Stubble Mulching, Contour Tillage, Contour Bunding, Terracing, Basin Listing, Water Harvesting, or Slope Management. These method don’t necessarily stop erosion, but they simply prevent erosion from happening. The three first methods that I listed were by far, in my opinion, the most effective. Strip Cropping is where you plant crops, that are erosion-permitting crops (jower, bajra, maize), together with close-growing crops (grasses, pulses). This process will check and hold the flowing water and soil. Stubble Mulching is the act of leaving crop residue on the land as a surface protection against erosion and to conserve moisture. Lastly, Contour Tillage, is where any farmer or business worker needs to know that if you are going to be placing tillage operations, they should be done at right angles to the slope of the land so that each furrow intercepts the flowing water and allows it to soak back in the
