The Holocaust was a time of great sorrow and grief. Hatred was the driving force behind the vicious act, knowingly killing 6 million Jews for reasons they could not control. Jewish people were not the only ones being killed, “Roma” or people who are mentally or physically disabled and homosexuals. The time period on the Holocaust was from the years 1933 through 1945. Killing was the norm for that time period, mass executions were normal also. Gas Chambers, Concentration Camps and Genocide were common ways of killing unwanted people during this time. Adolph Hitler, the man behind all of the killing and extermination of innocent Jewish people was born on April, 20 1889. Ironically Hitler’s grandfather was Jewish, yet he showed no remorse. He grew up living a not so good life, but nothing too serious to push him to the extreme limits he surpassed. Eichmann was hanged on May 31, 1962 they decided to burn his body and throw his remains in the sea. President Ronald Reagan upset many people who survived the Holocaust by going to Bitburg cemetery in Germany. Reagan didn’t know that not only did the cemetery hold the bodies of the people from the Holocaust but also many of Hitler’s helpers. Reagan visited the Bergen- Belsen one of the many concentration camps. This is where people mainly the Jews suffered and lost the lives. Reagan even visited Bitburg to pay his respects to the people who fought in World War II even the German soldiers. He wanted his trip to inspire others and let them see how America and Germany got over their difference. Adolf Hitler spent 5 years in prison for not leading the Nazi right. In prison he put all the time he had into an autobiography called Mein Kampf., Hitler only spent 9 months in prison because the Nazi made the people release him
