Last week I went to Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee for a visit, I had a chance to shortly interview a staff named Julie Davis. As a student majoring in hospitality management, it was such a great opportunity for me to gain some insight into the tourism and hospitality industry. I started the conversation with general questions, for example, describe her typical day at work, which reasons to work in hospitality, or what influenced her career choice. As a resort and convention center, Opryland provides inclusive and diversified accommodations as well as a wide range of services and facilities. Thus, there are so many different areas such as rooms, food and beverages, events, bar, golf, and fitness and different people in different areas certainly have different typical days. …show more content…
There are several reasons for her to choose hospitality as her career path. Specifically, she loves meeting people, she loves an international environment, she loves travelling, and she loves the fact that every day is different, every day presents a challenge. In addition, I also asked her some questions about negative aspects of hospitality and her career advice. As she said, hospitality career would demand an awful lot of time, long hours, and traveling leading to her no-routine life. She finds this unpredictability quite frustrating but she also enjoys it as well. This career has given her loads of opportunities to network with people, meet amazing people, and go to amazing places. It has also given her an air of independence, which allows her to do things on her own. From her own perspective, the importance to make success in the hospitality career is working hard, having fun, and focusing on the things that she can influence and she can
My group previously visited the Sheraton Hotel for our first interview with the front desk manager and it went very well. We decided to keep with the same hotel for our next interview, but due to a last-minute cancellation from the housekeeping manager we were not able to complete the interview. Due to this situation, I will be talking about a whole different hotel - G6 Hospitality. The name G6 Hospitality refers to the hotel brands – Motel 6 and Studio 6. I chose to G6 Hospitality because it is a well-known company that I wanted to know about more in-depth. From all my research, I have gained a lot of insight on what G6 Hospitality is all about.
When the initial time and place of the interview is in place, I will mark it down on the calendar. Everything must be neatly organized and confidential documents need to be kept out of sight of clients. There are cases where the interview gets emotional for the clients and they tend to cry, there needs to be tissue at the clients reach for their convenience, if at any time they have the need to grab one. When client's arrive a formal smile and a handshake is given, afterwords I introduce myself as ''I am Yesenia Lopez, a paralegal employee with this firm.'' ''My role as a paralegal is to prepare your divorce forms for you, tell you where these forms need to be filed to, make phone calls to the appropriate parties,
The learner has worked for a small business in her past. It was in Staten Island, NY and she worked for a computer repair shop. She was the one who dealt with the storefront while her boss went out on jobs to various companies. It taught her a great deal about customer service since she had not had a lot of experience with it. However, she does remember two main things; the relationships with his clients and customers were almost always personal and he would go the extra mile to deliver quality service, and the benefits were nonexistent, there was no healthcare package, no 401k, and she was paid in cash each week.
To conclude I would say that after writing this essay I have come to know my strengths and weakness. I have also come to know that I am an in born pragmatist. And being a pragmatist my strengths are get interested in technical oriented practical and realistic ideas and getting straight to the point. My weaknesses are not getting interested in theory and preferred more people oriented than task oriented. After going through all the other styles of learning I have found that to be a perfect hotelier and be successful it is very important to have a balanced approach in imbibing different styles of learning in different situation.
Interview Analysis Overview I have decided to interview Kevin Cheng, a graduating senior at Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Master of Science in Computer Science. He is currently working as an intern at Freemark Partners, the private investment firm for the Marks family, where he is developing an industry research project, as well as helping the team with deal sourcing, due diligence, deal execution, and other assorted tasks related to the private equity industry. I chose to interview him because he is the only other intern at the office, and I’m interested in seeing how our views on internships and careers differ from each other. Additionally, he has recruited for both software engineering and finance jobs
Introduction Millions of people all over the world suffer from some sort of pain, be it accute or chronic. The reasons for this pain can vary great from disease to injury of some sort, the effects of which exact a tremendous cost on our country in health care costs, rehabilitation and lost worker productivity, as well as the emotional and financial burden it places on patients and their families. In my multiple interviews with “Sarah” over the course of 3 days we discussed pain, the ways it affected her and her family, and at some point, changed the way “normal” life was defined for her. While I found a few things surprising in my interview with Sarah, the most surprising was her choice to continue using Enbrel, a biologic medication that
As a business owner it is important to decide if you are providing service or hospitality. Service is just the deliverance of a product while hospitality focuses on the dialogue while providing the service and engaging the customer. While doing this also decide what is your main goal. In this case, Danny wanted to have success by simply having genuine hospitality. From this point on you can work on the components that help you reach your objective. As mention earlier hospitality was the main focus. This was taken a step further by inventing “enlightened hospitality.” Not only were the customers valued, but the focus was distributed on the community, suppliers, and investors as well. Making changes to your workplace may be difficult but the success accompanying it are far much more

The reason I chose the Hotel Management industry is because it is a career path that I have always been interested in and curious about. It is a fast growing widespread global industry. I’ve always wanted an exciting career, which would integrate my business and creative skills in a way, which would be more energetic, active and fun than most orthodox and boring office desk jobs. I also desired to work in an industry, which I was fervent about. For my first year Applied study period I had the opportunity to work at The Taj hotels, resorts and palaces, India and my experience there established many of my principles of how the hotel industry operated. Despite my refining on the job experience, that allowed me to explore the various departments and requirements of the everyday job, I had never elaborately researched the prospects of working and skills and requirements required in the Hotel Management industry; and this Is exactly what I aim to accomplish with this report.
For our Hospitality Leadership class, each student was instructed to take a strength finder test in order to learn in what areas we are strong in. The test had roughly around one hundred and seventy-seven paired statements, students were asked to choose which statement best described them. Once the test was completed; the results were tallied, and our five areas of strength were provided. I will convey what I have learned, my opinions, and how I plan to use this information to improve my career path for the future.
In verses 5-10, the emphasis is this: In contrast with the man who did not want to be bothered, God wants His people to pray to Him. Hospitality was a strictly observed custom in the ancient Near East. In Jesus’ day, a person’s reputation was largely connected to his hospitality. When visitors arrived, the host would provide lodging under his roof and food to eat. The host in this parable did not have enough food for his unexpected traveling friend.

Universities should prepare students adequately for the challenges ahead. Some of the issues in which the students need preparation include dress code, listening and communication skills, and the need to have confidence. The university’s supervisor should also advise the students on the expectations of the organizations they are joining.

“My learning experience, things I can achieve, the decisions I make, the people I meet and befriend and the mistakes I make tells me who I am now and who I will become.” As a child, this was a belief that my parents taught me and, so I grew up with it and became very devoted to follow it. My parents always said to me “Learn all you can.” They also taught me that the decisions I make will help me to build my own destination, and the way I treat others will say the person I am. Until this day, I continue to believe, apply and follow that belief. Today, Hospitality Management is my number one career choice I have chosen to work for the rest of my life. In many different ways, Hospitality Management reflects my third, fourth and fifth of
The Hotel industry has become very important in the past years due to immense traveling and growth of international business. The Hotel industry not only plays an important role in the life of people but as well as the economy of the country. I spent an hour of my day relaxing in the lobby at the Fontainebleau resort in Miami, while on vacation with my family visiting from out of state. It was my first time staying at the resort so I was eager to check it out, after seeing such great reviews on Yelp and hearing great things from friends who have been there in the past. The employees working at the resort were very welcoming, professional and willing to go above and beyond to help their guests. The check-in process was very quick due to having
