Gun-snob : A individual who associates a high price with quality, and has no other method of measuring quality.
The Gun-snob, We all know this individual. We've encountered him some where in the gun shop or at the range. I honestly believe that they are costing the industry sales because, Cheap guns are expensive and expensive guns are insane. You here it time and time again from These Gun-snobs "well maybe could have saved up a little more and got something better".Well "better" is like beauty its in the of the beholder and, The 2 problems with this as soon as it happens. The first problem is they feel that they've wasted their money. The second is they become embarrassed and often times won't shot at all or not as well as they could.
Scott Kjar, financial aspects teacher at Baldwin-Wallace College, is on the ace gun side of the debate of gun control. He begins by discussing the shooting frenzy at Virginia Tech by a man named Cho. His entire defense is economists have a tendency to contradict gun control on the grounds that guns bring more income to the United States. Kjar contends Cho had an arrangement to kill quite a few people on the grounds that he had arranged it out prior. Cho would have killed the individuals with or without guns. Kjar says guns are by all account not the only type of weapons. Contrasted with different works like meeting from Democracy Now, Kjar gives the master gun perspective, while Goddard gives the contradicting perspective saying there ought to be harder gun laws.
All guns serve different purposes. Guns have been a part of American history for many years. Many different kinds of guns have been used for many different types of jobs. In like manner hunters have different guns for different game. Just as police use guns for law enforcement, hunters use guns to harvest game. The two most commonly used firearms of hunters, are the rifle and the shotgun. Both the rifle and the shotgun are used for hunting, but the two have some major differences. The main differences between the two firearms are cost, range and the type of ammunition that each firearm uses. Most gun manufactures sell shotguns much cheaper than they sell rifles. Shotguns are not as complex internally, and have fewer parts than rifles. The simplicity of a shotgun also makes them easier to clean and maintain, which cuts down on cost. Being that shotguns have fewer parts than rifles, this helps with expense also. No matter how well a hunter takes care of his gun, over time internal parts will either brake or need to be replaced. If there are fewer parts, there is less to replace and less money to spend. Rifles on the other hand, seem to cost much more than shotguns. Rifles are much more complex internally than shotguns and therefore cost more to produce. Also when hunting with rifles some type of vision enhancement is require...
Most gun control interest groups argue that a gun is the only commercially available product solely designed to kill. They believe there should be a ‘cooling off’ period before people are allowed to purchase a gun from the time of application for a license.
Society’s Need for the Registration of Handguns Guns are an instrument that even the most careful of people could do harm with. Gun owners should attend firearm safety classes so they will be educated on proper handling and storage of the gun. While this should only be voluntary, something should be done to ensure that guns are only sold to people who have a safe background and are of age. Congress should mandate the registration of handguns in order to keep criminals from possessing guns, to cut back on violence in the home, and to avoid accidental or intentional violence among children. The Federal Government today is putting forth much effort in order to control the purchase and registration of handguns.
A few years ago they have settled a class action lawsuit concerning allegations of defective rifles. Also, they have been sued because of the mass shooting in 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. Moreover, when the president Donald Trump was elected the sales of the guns has declined. However, when Barack Obama was president the sales of the gun surged to record levels in 2016 (Smith A, 2018, February 12).
...he common denominator in many of these mass shooting is someone who is a loner, dysfunctional and had some type of outside influence to do this, not honest gun owners.
A gun owner can be a responsible person but still anything can happen certain circumstances can come up where the gun can be used in a negative way. Nobody should be foolish enough to say that something bad could happen to them with a firearm. People saying that the answer is more guns less regulation isn’t the answer that obviously doesn’t work that would just lead to more chaos. Since 2009, three times as many pro-gun laws were passed in The United States as anti-gun measures this trend has only accelerated since then. A new demographic of people support the right to carry gun laws. Now more women support concealed weapon laws and now more women and moms are getting concealed weapon permits in states that allow them. Overall, 85 percent of Americans support the right to bear arms(Krieg,2016). Many americans believe that restricting gun rights anymore would be a complete violation of the constitution and would be severely fought by pro-gun activists if any sort of legislation was passed. Legislation has been passed in certain states to ban guns from certain areas like playgrounds and around schools if you are caught with guns anywhere around there stiff penalties will be put in place. In the late 1960s and into the early 70s, a gun control movement came about because
Dave’s gun serves a solution that will turn Dave’s adolescent into manhood. Dave believes that by owning a gun he can be a man. As mentioned on page 1220, “Shucks, a man oughta hava little gun aftah he done worked hard all day.” Dave’s parents treat Dave as a child who should be punished for his mistakes and that too harsh punishment like beating. Dave believes a gun will make him old enough to be saved from the beating of his father. Mr. Hawkins is rich and employer of Dave. Dave works very hard and yet is not paid. For Dave, a gun is a symbol of power and he believes this gun might make him more powerful than Mr. Hawkins. Therefore, he wants to fire his gun at Mr. Hawkins’s house. The blacks that work in the fields treat Dave as a little boy. Dave does not like this fact. He is seventeen and thinks he is almost a man and the workers should treat him as a man. Owning a gun would solve this problem, as workers then will respect him.
Over the past year, the United States has been plagued with controversy in regards to gun control legislation. On January 24, 2013, Senator Feinstein introduced the Assault Weapons Ban of 2013. The Assault Weapons Ban was a bill written to stop the acts of sale, transfer, importation, and manufacturing of military styled weapons. The NRA-ILA website quotes an excerpt of Feinstein’s bill, which states, “Feinstein’s new bill are as follows: Reduces, from two to one, the number of permitted external features on various firearms. The 1994 ban permitted various firearms to be manufactured only if they were assembled with no more than one feature listed in the law. Feinstein’s new bill would prohibit the manufacture of the same firearms with even one of the features.” (NRA-ILA) Wayne Lapierre, Executive Vice President of the NRA, said in 2009, “There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the guns you want to ban and you don’t want to ban. You’re going to ban these semi-autos, and then it’s going to be handguns, and then it’s going to be pump shotguns.” Lapierre’s statement supports the fact that the recent gun ban legislation across the United States will not solve the problem of increased violence.
In the article, the author talks about Michael Bellesiles a historian who first wrote on gun ownership in America in 1996. Bellesiles was the first to find that gun ownership in early colonial times through the late 19th century was scarce. Up till this article many historians thought that gun were abundant. Bellesiles article to them was controversial. Most people, myself included, have always thought that guns were always of high abundance. This is what the media and history has always taught, to read this article and find that guns were “scarce” was unbelievable.
The sale of firearms is an incredibly confusing process. Shotguns, rifles, and handguns all have individual registration and guidelines of sale. Althoug...
This rationale is problematic. When a criminal intentionally points a gun at someone and kills them, they should be held responsible for their actions and face the consequences. A gun manufacturer is not going to make someone pull the trigger; they just make and sell the product. When someone buys a weapon, or gets ahold of a weapon, they have a choice and have control over their own actions.
Gun owners are the witch hunter of today because they are being blamed for all of the violence today. Firearm owners are accused of gun violence across the United States because Gun owners are receiving criticism and hatred because we have firearms, but that isn’t the case. In the Article, If You Think 'Guns Don't Kill People' You Are Missing The Point by the Huffington Post, “When shooting happen, there are many vendettas to blame and the effect is a mass shooting, these people that are shooting people have many Mental diseases. The motive of possible shootings is many of angered people. But the most common is someone is in a common angry state.” The United States places blame on Firearm respecters because of all of the accusations during the darkest time, like when there is a mental illness has taken out any entire school.
There are many cases where the gun users injure themselves or even end up dead while they are examining their guns. Last month, one of my neighbors passed away because he accidentally shot himself in the chest while he was trying to fix the gun. It was unknown whether or not he knew the gun was loaded, but this kind of incident can be prevented if guns are not so easily obtainable. Similarly, a man in San Francisco also shot himself to death by accident while he tried to take a picture with the gun. Assault weapon supporters believe that as long as the gun is not loaded, it will be safe. In fact, it does not matter how careful the users think they could be, there are still chances that they forget whether or not the gun is loaded like the two cases listed above. Once the gun goes wrong, it could lead to an irreversible
First, and foremost many handguns have claimed the lives of too many people. This is a very serious issue we must tackle globally not just in the United States. The same problem is killing our past, present, and future. Gun violence has claimed the lives of so many Americans that we are the leading country in crimes committed by guns. These guns are claiming the lives of people ranging from babies to adults to even the elderly. Handguns are just causing too many deaths.
